sopmac45
Hi dev team, Is there any way to have a filter in the PLUGINS tab to let us know what ( and how many ) patches we have in that list so we can add them to the Dynamic Patches group instead going down the list and find one by one to add them to that group ? Usually, we download several mods, some less than others, but regardless, it is pain going down the list and look for each single one of them while if we have this filter, and assuming is not difficult to add to it, Vortex could tell us how many and which ones are patches so it will be easier to remember which one to add to the corresponding group. Also, if this feature is added, once we add a patch to the Dynamic Group, that patch should listed in that filter as already added to that group, so we will know which one have not and go from there. It would also be super nice that from that filter window, to just double click on the patch that has not been added to the corresponding group and add it directly from that list. This could be very helpful when installing new mods that will have patches or when updating mods with patches. It would be very beneficial for everybody but especially for those who have more than 150 mods installed. Going down the list is just a pain and visualize which ones are patches or not, is tiring for the eyes. That filter could be the quick solution to this particular scenario. Here is my list of patches : If you add this feature, it could be added on the top of the PLUGINS section : Thanks so much.
HadToRegister
You can sort your list by Group, which will make it easy to see all of the plugins you have signed to "default" (I just sorted mine by Group, and all the "Default" plugins go straight to the top), making it easy to see which plugins need patches, if that helps. Yes I know that HadToRegister and it does help but was not exactly what I was asking. For example, in the MODS section, when you click on Endorse drop arrow and select for example Endorsed, it will show you what mods and how many you have endorsed out of your list of mods. I would like to have that function in the PLUGINS section. Now, to going deep into this, how about if Vortex could tell us what plugins are "patches" but have not been placed in the Dynamic Patches group ? Would that help us ? I do believe so, hell yeah, so that way by just clicking on that filter, it will list all patches, those already in the Dynamic Group and those that have not been placed yet in that group. Do you see now what I want ?
HadToRegister
Yes, but compatibility patches etc, shouldn't just get all put down at the bottom of the load order.DYNAMIC PATCHES is what I assign an esp that I want to be at the bottom of my load order.Loot usually puts patches, like sorting patches, and compatibility patches, where they belong in the load order MOD AMOD BMOD A and B Compatibility Patch-mod A and B compatibility passed down to other mods. If you put something like that in Dynamic Patches, the you'll get this MOD AMOD B -rest of load order that might cause compatibility issues before Mod A and B patch loads- Mod A and B Compatibility Patch Anybody want to let me know if I misunderstand how patches work?It would help if we were supplied with the definition of what the Group titles refer to. Grestorn
Not all patches are "dynamic patches"! Dynamic patches are automatically created by a patching tool (like it was common in Oldrim) or you create them yourself using tools like Wrye Bash or xEdit. Patches you're downloading form nexus should not be in the Dynamic Patches group. Because they just need to be loaded after all mods they're supposed to patch, but not necessarily at the bottom of the whole list. As a matter of fact, it can well be, that parts of a patch need to be overwritten by some other patch (usually a hand-made one, I have some examples in my setup). @HardToRegister: No, you got it exactly right... Surprised to read that from me?!

sopmac45
I thank you both and I am very happy that finally I learned this. Very well explained HadToRegister. Matter of fact before putting those patches in that group, the auto-sort left them under their master mod but I though ( I had a missconception about it ) they should be at the bottom so I did it. Going to correct this now and thank you both for clearing me up.
