Have tried uninstalling then reinstalling to no avail. Going to have to go back to NMM I fear.
Grestorn
Do you have Steam installed? Due to a bug, the latest version of Vortex doesn't run without Steam.
HadToRegister
Try downloading and install version 0.16.
vf14twc
Vortex crashes right at the end of installing itself. Downloaded it and tried the install several times. Will not start right after installing either. Tried unblocking and running as admin, still doesn't work. Steam? I hope that is not the issue or planned to be an issue. Don't have that, don't want it back. Not going to allow Steam to argue about a poor connection being an excuse for blocking me from playing an offline game. So... will Vortex be fixed soon? Truly appreciate the work being done. Great job. Hope it will be up and working soon. Would love to try it.

Grestorn
Ok, but I'm an offline gamer as well, still I need Steam since practically all games, especially single player games, are distributed using Steam these days... The problem that Vortex 0.16.10 doesn't work without Steam is just a bug, however, you can either wait for the next release or use the previous 0.16.8 release (which you can get here: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/releases)

You still need steam to install the games, even if you play them offline. You cannot run Steam games legally without Steam installed.
