Daftspy22
I'm not going to download it, I tried it and when I tried to import my modlist for Fallout 4, it quite literally just copied and pasted my mods from NMM to the Vortex Directory. I have 205 mods and that's 40gb of mods; I'm not going to use vortex if you cant find a way to simply scan my mods and perhaps move them rather than copying them and pasting them. Either make a better way to import your mods from NMM to vortex or let us use NMM.Let us use NMM if we want to.

Ethreon
So many flavours, yet you chose to be uninformed and salty. Use whatever manager you want, nobody is forcing you to do anything.
Community Manager Dark0ne Posted October 29, 2018 Community Manager Share Posted October 29, 2018 simply scan my mods and perhaps move them rather than copying them and pasting them If we "moved" them, it would break your NMM installation and you would not be able to go back to NMM in case you don't like it. I don't think that is a good idea.
Daftspy22
It quite literally is forcing you to use it. Downloading via NMM no longer works. It defaults to Vortex and to even use NMM, you have to manually download the mods then find the files via the "Add File" function. simply scan my mods and perhaps move them rather than copying them and pasting them If we "moved" them, it would break your NMM installation and you would not be able to go back to NMM in case you don't like it. I don't think that is a good idea. Why not allow Vortex to use the same directory or something. It's a huge hassle for people with large amounts of mods to have their mods copied and pasted into a new directory. Not only would it take a hell of a long time to do; it doubles the size you invest into your mods. no-one is forcing anything on anyone. if you dont want to use it, don't. What a bunch of lies.If you click on the INSTALL VORTEX Button, you're brought to another page, and if you actually spend a couple of second scrolling down (I know, scrolling is sooooooo harrrrrrrrd) you'll be greeted with this... THEN, if you actually bothered to look through the VORTEX SUPPORT Section, you'd see around 500 threads of people having the same problem as you, because they can't be arsed to actually CHANGE THE SETTINGS OF THEIR MOD MANAGER TO HANDLE DOWNLOADS. To use the DOWNLOAD WITH MOD MANAGER Button with Vortex... TO USE THE DOWNLOAD WITH MANAGER BUTTON WITH NMM I've never seen such a bunch of people who can't even be bothered to learn how to change one small setting in a program, and instead come up with insane Conspiracy Theories.Good Lord. somerandomsheepthathops
Even if downloading were fully disabled, it's two extra steps. That's all. How is a mild inconvenience forcing you to change to Vortex exactly? They didn't force an update out that bricks NMM and makes it unusable, they aren't forcing us to download mods through Vortex only, or making us download it at the threat of being banned, or revocation of most access privileges. Pretty sure Dark0ne isn't planning on blackmailing or intimidating us into switching over either; to use an admittedly childish & banal example. I've still used it even up to a few days ago for Fallout 4. I admittedly had no idea NMM download was still supported (I stopped using NMM downloading months ago), and just took the two extra steps. The program still worked just as fine in all other regards and I never felt pressured to go to Vortex. The program is still receiving unofficial support, and probably will for a good time to come, and you can still get technical support in the Open Beta Forums. Long story short, we're not being forced, no matter how much you say otherwise. Edited November 1, 2018 by somerandomsheepthathops
