rmm200
It is the little things that are really big. Looking at my Skyrim directory yesterday. It was full of cruft from old deleted mods.Hit Purge Mods in Vortex, and deleted anything in the game directory that looked non-Bethesda. That included the Scripts, Meshes, and Textures folders.Had Steam validate the game directory. Then hit Deploy Mods. This was every bit as good as a clean install and took maybe 15 minutes. Running great after running FNIS and Bodyslide again. Thanks Vortex!

Whoa wait, did I read that right, you can hit PURGE and it will clean the directories of mods installed BEFORE Vortex was installed?Or did you manually clean the directories? Purge removes what Vortex installed. Anything left in the game directory is Bethesda - and obsolete cruft.I manually took a meataxe to everything not Bethesda - including the complete folders I mentioned.Steam Verify nicely cleans up what is left. Grestorn
That's exactly the right way to get a clean installation!

This is one of the little things that's staring you at the face that sometimes you need someone who thinks a bit out of the box to tell you it can be done and you'll go, "Well I'll be damned."
