giuliohe151
Hi ,I only just recently decided to swap from NMM to Vortex and as you may guess I am still not used to this new mod manager .After 3 days spent re-installing all of my mods one by one ( cause the port feauture didn't work ) I finally managed to reach the "solve conflicts" part today....and while it did give me quite a headache at start I managed to sort that one out too ( hopefully ? ) . I depolyed my mods , ran FNIS , ran Bodyslide....did a batch build , finally started Skyrim via SSE.....and....crash.I'd like to know what I might have done wrong and I'll even post a list of my mods here ( if anyone can explain me how to actually do that ) in case it's not an issue of mis-using Vortex itself but just a load order issue or a problem of some other kind. M48A5
You were given a warning ( cause the port feature didn't work ) and you went ahead with using a mod manager that was not working correctly. That is probably the problem.

That is probably the problem.I don't think you understand. I said I ported my mods one by one , rar file by rar file. I did NOT use the port feauture itself, I installed everything manually. It did launch and had barely reached the main menu before crashing, before even showing the options to continue , load , ecc
AugustaCalidia
It did launch and had barely reached the main menu before crashing, before even showing the options to continue , load , ecc What you describe sounds very much like a missing master problem. Did Vortex give you any warning about that? Do you have auto-sort enabled?

Did Vortex give you any warning about that? Do you have auto-sort enabled? Auto sort is enabled and I don't seem to get any warnings about missing masters ( I am actually not getting any notification at all as of now ) , the number of plugins is inferior to 255 , conflicts and dependencies seem to be ok ( even though I can't confirm it for sure....the lightning icon is green though and I am getting no warnings about dependencies ) , LOOT gives a couple of warnings but no actual errors , FNIS works , SKSE works , Bodyslide did its job correctly when I ran it....I don't actually have any clue of what might not be working....can't even tell whether it's an issue of me not being able to use Vortex just yet or whether it's some mod but these are more or less the same mods I've always been using with NMM as well and the game worked....I actually only removed some HD textures ones now that I decided to swap mod manager but I generally just followed the list of mods I already had installed. No, people were warned to stick with what was working for them, it had nothing to do with any "using a mod manager that was not working correctly" nonsense. That was not the point at all. When you open the mods and plugins pages, do you see anything disabled that's supposed to be enabled? What are the LOOT warnings? Do you have any patches that require special load order placement? What happens if you add back into your game the HD textures that you had removed?

What happens if you add back into your game the HD textures that you had removed? Not that I know of ( plus....shouldn't Vortex tell me about a missing .esm in that case ? If it was just a random .esp the mod wouldn't load but the game shouldn't crash before actually loading the save file ) ; as for LOOT warning they are just "cleaning" warnings which still shouldn't be causing a ctd I think ( I guess I may use TESV Edit to clean these 8 mods which give me the warning but I doubt they are the problem here ) . I have no idea about patches that require special load order placements, I always only needed to use LOOT and that was it.I could try adding those textures back I guess but it's just 2k textures for trees , rocks and so on.....as for now I think it may be a problem related to the fact I decided not to re-install some of these mods in Vortex....but since they were installed in NMM their .esp may still be active.....so that could definitely be an issue.
