Well personally I'd rather hope that your Rule 12 has more to do with cleavage than whining or crying because I'd take an obtuse angle of 168 degrees over a dense remark anyday.

Besides, I never gave my opinion I stated a fact ... and honestly I doubt you're the sackcloth and ashes type, but hey just in case, there's always beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning ... I reckon that's why I don't have so much "woe is me".

Anyway having said that, it does not take away the fact that the internet is just another source of sourcing info so whether you like it or not get used to it, and it still does not retract the fact that many a business owner in the US of A is going to cough up ... playing on my words won't make the problem go away ... your government will see to that.

Aren't you fed up with having to carry the can ?

The global economy isn't getting any better (fact), and your deficit is larger than a pregnant whale in a taxi ... but hey it's ok to make jokes while they pile on the pressure.

Have a look at your Debt Clock, especially the far right at the bottom and then tell me if the US can afford more foreclosures ... LIVE debt clock

So your swansong of love for your employees is admirable but charity begins at home.

(Quoted from other post) Anyway, "sweetheart" there is a saying – It's the cost of doing business. While I am not overjoyed by the thought of another cost, I'm not about to take the sack cloth and ashes route just yet.

The biggest cost of business is my employees, particularly respecting them and valuing them. Since I have been advised my first option is to move the business somewhere else – what's one more closed shop and a few more unemployed right? – I figured that probably isn't the best way to treat people. While I do like to make a profit – at least enough to keep me in kibbles and bits with the occasional bottle of scotch and a good cigar – I'm not going to do it at the expense of some good people, and really, I don't need a "Bentley parked beside the Rolls" to make myself feel good. However, I do have to treat people well and I do have to do what is right and lawful and I do have to feel that what I do is making at least my little part of the world just a bit better a place. If that means a few dollars less in my pay check, well I guess that's what it's going to take, and who knows – it just might help someone, especially when it comes to something like health care.

While it looks like I probably have no specific worries, I think I might just wait for a slightly more "expert" opinion than yours, if you don't mind.

As for your little problem, there is another saying – buck up, suck it up and get on with it; but you really need much, much more "woe is me..." in your posts to make them really funny.

Had to just come back with the most hilarious part. So many people are looking for "Obamacare" on the web instead of the actual legislation name there is a push on to get search engines to direct people to the correct place. Oh my aching sides.

OK all you "sweethearts"....keep it on topic and refrain from personal commentary. This entire section teeters on the brink of going bye-bye and I am more than willing to push it over the edge.~Lisnpuppy

Considering not even the Congresspeople read it, and you had the Speaker of the House at the time flat out telling us we'd find out what's in it AFTER it passed, I don't know what good it would have done if any one of us actually tried to read it.

This BS again? Everyone who voted for the PPACA read it, as did most who voted against or abstained. The bill had been up for debate for six months, and many of its provisions (especially the individual mandate) had been around for years.

So stop with the "stupid Congressperson" strawman. Also, just for the record, most people aspire to be even just slightly better than their pet strawmen. "I'm just as mininformed as the most misinformed person I could hypothetically imagine" is not a point you should want to make.

Nancy Pelosi -" we have to pass the Bill so the People can see what's in it"...hmm sounds as if she read it...sure.

YOU still have not answered the question whether you have read it, which goes directly to your credentials for sarcastically critiquing those that have not. Still waiting...

MB, just curious. Whom were you addressing with the "so stop with the stupid congressperson" remark in your last post (#14)? And secondly, please respond to my question which was directed specifically to you in my post #9 vis a vis whether or not you had actually read the entire bill and whether you would be prepared to enlighten those unenlightened of us regarding its most salient points.

I am currently out of town with limited computer access, and each time I check back I still do not find that answer...

@MB

Ten days have passed since I asked you the first time, five days have passed since I asked you the second time and since this is YOUR thread one might think you are avoiding the question.

Have you read the 2600 pages of the PPACA yourself?

It's dead Jim........

I am going to guess the answer to the question at hand is the same one that the bulk of those that voted for/against it is. A resounding No. The republicans didn't like it, simply because it was brought up by the dems. A selection of dems didn't like it because of the individual mandate, or, the lack of a public option. What we got was a compromise that did nothing toward it's intended purpose, which was Reduce the cost of health CARE. This 'law' completely missed the mark on that one. It is also going to fail in the rest of it goals. Insurance is going to get more expensive, because that is simply what it does. Have a look at the last decade... even when employment was good... Health care went up 48%, inflation was only 26%.

You cannot legislate away the law of supply and demand. Supply has been getting thinner. Demand has been getting stronger. With all the new folks back on the insurance roles, demand is going to spike. Supply isn't going to. So, you will pay more, for less, of an inferior product. Just what we always wanted.....

"Pulling my hand from the stove was a mistake. I'm very badly burned, and that didn't help. My burns were just getting worse and worse while on the stove, and I predict they will continue to get worse while off the stove. You can't change the laws of thermodynamics. So I should put my hand back on the stove immediately."

This thread seems to be going nowhere fast. If MB doesn't answer assume the negative as who has read all of it? I am not sure what the point was of that line anyway. nevertheless.....move on please.~Lisnpuppy
