New Site Index - Day 3

Please, please, please add a "RANDOM FILE" button. It's an outstanding way to discover older files buried deep within the site. Before the initial site overhaul there was a Greasemonkey script that filled that role. It doesn't work anymore and I found so many hidden treasures that way.

You can actually do that by opening a mod on the Nexus then modifying the numbers at the end of the URL bar.

For example, I open the mod "Archery Chest" that has the URL "http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20103/"

So I change it to "http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20003/" and I get to the removed mod "4GB patch for cracked version". You really can get some surprises out of this.

While some of the new elements on the homepage I really like. What I don't like is the fact that you guys put all the new mods and new screenshots down the page in the right hand column.

That real estate is the last place on the page that anyone looks and it is typically ignored because its where all the banner ads live.

The old design was much better because it gave new mods exposure before getting filed away into the nether. Now new mods are going to get mainly ignored. It's really not fair to new mods to bury them like that. I could do without the screenshot bar but please bring back the "Recently uploaded files" bar that used to appear below the "hot files" thumbnail bar.

I also like the idea of putting up a "random" bar below that which would have a random selection of older mods.

The main attraction to this website are the mods so really those should be the most prominant things on the page. I know you guys need to make money with your banner ads and all but I think having more thumbnails on the homepage is better than a wall feed or something like that.

I think it would be better to keep the 'More' feature of adding 15 more images instead of replacing them. It looks pretty great at the moment and in my opinion I think it might be better than the replacement way.

Also, could the 'Site News' tab be moved to be the first in line? XD I don't know if I have OCD or something, but I think it would look more neat if it the default tab wasn't in the middle.

As mentioned by another, I also get two complete identical lists when I click on Files, New Today.

Other than that I have no problems with the new layout. Appreciate all the ongoing work to make improvements.
