can i have the old mod manager back, ya know the one that worked..... vortex doesn't even try (instantly says failed), used to be on mod manager i gave admin rights to folders and it worked. doesn't work anymore. p.s. giving a program admin rights cannot make permission problems worse, ever (seriously who do you think is dumb enough to believe that bull?).

Make sure your Mod Staging Folder is on the same drive as your games.

 

Also, read the built in knowledge base, and watch the built in tutorial videos.

Also, don't run Vortex as an Admin

just have to say that vortex is a computer program and therefore the concept of it "trying" is not really apt. The effort comes from the end user, which is you.

don't give up, there are people here eager to help you. just let the dog see the rabbit, so they can give you their wisdom and break you free from your self-inflicted modding prison.

concept of a program trying is it atleast starting a download before failing which vortex is not doing right now (also your metaphor makes no sense to me.). also again admin cannot do anything to mess up any program(you would literally have to purposefully load a reaction to admin to make is mess up which would be very stupid). i have also checked the knowledge based and found nothing of use. staging folder is in the same drive as my games.

Well, the Developer of Vortex specifically states to NOT run Vortex as an Admin, since you're insisting on doing so, and refusing that advice, then I can't help you

 

I know, because I ran Vortex as an Admin and ended up being locked out of the Vortex Database, I had to retake ownership of my Vortex folders in order to run Vortex again.
