NewKeithMoon
Yeah I turned my UAC back on. Amazing, can't wait!
RomulusRed
For me Vortex was a fresh install, so I'm assuming UAC was on automatically. Thanks so much for taking the time to work on a fix!
Tannin42
Do you mind trying this development build? https://ci.appveyor.com/project/TanninOne/vortex/builds/24695060/artifacts It's not a signed executable so your AV may complain, if you don't feel safe doing this that's ok but you'll then have to wait for the next proper build. NewKeithMoon
I've figured something out and my Vortex is working now! Hidden behind the splash screen was an error message asking me to migrate my downloads (I've never touched the defaults so I don't know why it was asking me this, also when this issue first came up I had no error message I'm pretty certain.) I opened the task manager and clicked the little arrow next to vortex to bring the error message to the front, then "migrated" my downloads. Vortex opened, excellent! Thanks for the help Tannin! FFS....LOL This problem has been driving me nuts, only to find out there was a dialog box hidden behind the logo. Windows 10 seems to like to do this a lot, I've have windows open that wouldn't respond, only to find out that a File "Retry, Cancel" Ignore" box sitting BEHIND the window in question, making me believe that Explorer itself had locked up. Glad you figured out what it was, and even happier you came back and told everybody what it was.

I certainly have, and I feel sooooo stupid when I discover what the problem is.
RomulusRed
So I'm trying to get the dialog box to appear. However, I don't have the option under task manager to bring the error to the front. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! When you click the arrow (if there is one) do you get two entries for Vortex? If so I believe I just double clicked on the second one. RomulusRed
I get three entries for vortex. Unless it's the first time I've attempted to open the program after I've turned my laptop on, than it's only 2. I did double click on both or all three depending on how many appeared. It's a weird annoying issue. Since your fix makes complete sense.
