tencellar
Complaints about Vortex Let us customize the UI widths of columns. I'm f***ing TIRED of this auto changing the size of the column width and suddenly UI elements become off screen and therefore uninteractable. I have to disable certain columns I want to see, such as version number, endorsements, install date, etc, just to be able to see the configuration button gear. We can double click columns to change the sizes, but even that is a hidden feature and is undone because of the UI changing the column width. This must save per user bases, and load upon startup Better way of adding dependencies. I should be able to right click a mod -> add dependency. Not click and drag to f***ing link two or more mods together. This is horrible when you have many mods installed, and cannot drag upwards/downwards because you are filtering mods. This goes for BOTH the mod list and the plugin list. Also, If I'm under the Mod category and click Manage Rules, there should be a way to add a custom rule at the bottom of this UI interface. If I have to select multiple mods to add for dependencies (the checkbox feature), do NOT hide this interface. If I start with mod A, and select mod B,C,D, I have to go back and find mod A and click the checkbox again (unintuitive and stupid). Please update this interface. Profiles Only gripe I've had so far is that you should more clearly show all other profiles are disabled (inactive) while another is active. This small, single green border over the active profile is hard to see, and for color blind people hard to determine if it's red/green. Show a large UI element like a cross X over the entire picture frame with the word "Inactive" or "Disabled" with red coloring. Or even gray / fade out the disabled profile. Cyclical Dependencies If there is a cyclical dependency detected, you should be able to click on the detected conflict and open any custom load order rules and manage them accordingly. I don't want to hunt down rules for mods or rules for plugins separately. If there are no custom rules and a Cyclical Dependency is present, suggest one or open the interface to add one. Mod Sorting I've personally never had to hard, manually sort a mod. I don't know how this even works with auto sort disabled. That being said, a lot of people on the forums are complaining about this interface, so something needs to be done. Suggested Feature Plugin count limit. I'm not sure if there is any warning for reaching or exceeding the 255 plugin limit. It would be nice to perform a count / calculation that is easy to see for the user. Subtract ESL plugins from the final count. Total plugin count - ESL count = Actual Plugin Count.

AugustaCalidia
Mod SortingI've personally never had to hard, manually sort a mod.I don't know how this even works with auto sort disabled. That being said, a lot of people on the forums are complaining about this interface, so something needs to be done. If by "mod sorting" you mean manually dragging and dropping plugins in a plugin load list, then something already has been done about it. It's been replaced by a better system which allows you to fix the position of a plugin in a load order relative to other plugins with which it conflicts. This "fixing" generates a record to which you can refer when needed. To achieve this, you simply make a plugin rule ("load before" or "load after") or make a group assignment. Because of integrated LOOT, there's little need to make plugin adjustments in Vortex. Plugin rules and assignments only rarely need to be made. I've used Vortex for over a year managing Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Fallout 4, Skyrim SE, and Enderal. Over that time i've made only five plugin group assignments (three of which weren't needed after all).
HadToRegister
I posted this a while ago, about setting the theme in Vortex to be more Colorblind freindly I think this may have been addressed in the upcoming release, with a High Contrast Theme being added, but for now, conflicts are shown with Red, and Green lightning bolts, making it difficult for people who are colorblind to discern whether a conflict has been fixed or is still conflicting. The quick workaround is to do this 1. SETTINGS--------------->THEME 2. CLONE and NAME the theme, click Clone again. 3. Now the theme screen has a bunch of settings on it, look for 'brand-success' and 'brand-danger' in the section with the colors 4. 'brand-success' #86b951 is Green, change the Hex to something else, using something like the online color picker to pick a color you can easily see 5. 'brand-danger' #ff1c38 is Red, again, change the Hex to something else, using something like the online color picker to pick a color you can easily see 6. Click apply when you've selected two colors that allow you to discern between Conflict and No Conflict. Hope this helps someone.

In Vortex click and drag is not in fact the recommended method for dealing with dependencies. For load order you use the taskbar "Manage Rules" feature and/or the group assignments feature found in the plugin details pane. For install order you use the "Manage Rules" feature. In neither case is there a need to click and drag. That seems to be a "legacy" feature. I've never had to use it. For plugins, there's currently no "right click" feature. Rather, you go to the plugins tab "Manage Rules" menu to create and manage rules. It would be useful if you could right click on a plugin and open the "Manage Rules" menu with the left hand box already populated. For mods, there's no need to right click on a mod unless there's a file conflict indicated. In that case, you click on the lightening icon to open up a mod-specific "Manage Rules" menu. As for adding a custom rule at the bottom of the mods tab "Manage Rules" menu, why do you need to add a custom rule? Vortex displays all file overlap conflicts so that you can set rules to resolve them. These rules are your "custom" rules. If all conflicts have been resolved, what's the purpose of an additional custom rule? To make custom rules for mods that need no rules is otiose. Subtract ESL plugins from the final count.Total plugin count - ESL count = Actual Plugin Count. It would have been f***ing fantastic if you had managed to post this without f***ing dropping the f***ing f-bomb repeatedly.Do you realize how f***ing annoying it is to get posts that are this offensive and then expect a level-headed response? If you have sensible points to make, couldn't you do it like a f***ing adult?*scnr* Anyway:a) While I get your point about column width we are kind of limited by technology here. Resizable columns also means that the columns need to have a fixed width and then we have no automatic sizing at all. I don't feel like it would be a better user experience if you had to constantly resize column to fill the available width and show all its content. And we can't magically know when you want your custom widths intact and when you want Vortex to resize automatically What you can do however is set up your own theme and then limit the range in which columns may resize by setting min-width/max-width and maybe override the wrapping behaviour to allow/disallow cells from having multiple rows. It's possible we'll eventually allow switching between automatic and manual sizing but that's quite a bit of work actually. b) You should very rarely have to use the drag&drop approach to creating dependencies, usually you should do it from the conflicts dialog. The "right-click -> add dependency" suggestion seems to be incomplete. What happens after you clicked that? Should vortex show another list of _all_ your mods to scroll through and select?I'm not happy with the drag&drop system either but I've yet to see a workable alternative that go through another dialog. c) Not going to comment on the contrast on the profiles screen, UI design isn't actually my job. d) Again, we are somewhat limited by technology. It's not Vortex detecting cycles, it's LOOT, and we can only visualise the information it provides to us. The dialog should offer to remove any custom rules though, if you get a cycle error dialog that offers you no options to fix (in 0.18 or later), please report that with a screenshot. Also: "If there are no custom rules and a Cyclical Dependency is present" - that's not even possible, there is always a custom rule or a custom group assignment involved. e) No, things don't have to happen just because users complain. If developers always reacted when someone complains all software would turn into a Frankensteins Monster-like abominations that nobody likes. Vortex can't be everything to everyone.A loud minority doesn't get to dictate what we have to do with our software. If you have enhancement/change requests and make a good point we will be happy to implement it but at the end of the day we have to make the decisions based on what's feasible and what the majority of our users are likely to want. f) The plugin count is displayed in the top-right corner of the screen since 0.18.5.
