Mods will neither enable or disable correctly

I just re-loaded version 1.0.5 to make sure I have the latest and that my .exe was not corrupted. I an not able to successfully enable or disable mods. Problem started a couple days ago. I have been using Vortex successfully for several months prior.

  • Download of a mod works fine
  • Click install, and Vortex says it's installed
  • Click enable, Vortex checks for updates, etc., does it's loading and then says it's enabled

In other words, everything looks fine. But when I look at my Fallout4\Data directory, the mod has not loaded -- no .esp or meshes, textures, etc.

Same is true for un-install. I click Disable and Vortex goes through what looks like the normal process, but no. The plugin and data files ares still in the Data directory.

That seems to be turned on. Didn't know there was a control for that. Thanks for pointing it out.

I think I may have found the problem. (still checking) I did some mashups in Outfit Studio and substituted the result for an existing mod mesh. Somehow Vortex saw it as an update to the original mod saying the mod had been changed externally. Vortex wanted to me to resolve the problem -- I was ignoring it for the last couple of days. I resolved that issue and now it appears that everything is back to normal. I'll do a couple more checks, but looking good so far.

Yes. The game, mod, and staging directories haven't changed. I do use a different disk for staging and mod folders. My C: drive is too full. But yes, that's the way i installed it months ago intentionally and just verified that it's still the same.

See my response to "HadToRegister" above. I had a conflict from a mod that was changed externally (by me). Once I resolved that conflict everything seems to be good.
