Vault boy magnets in loading screen

Hey all,

At some loading screens of the game i see a thing that looks like fridge magnets resembling vault boy.

I have a couple of questions about them:

1: Is it an item we can get ingame, and then put it on our fridge or where ever in our settlements

2: If its an item ingame, is there a mod that change them to vault girl, like the 2 known mods that converts bobble heads to vault girl.

3: If its just a loading screen thing, then can someone point me out why they are only there, as they look very much like fridge magnets which suspects they are actual things ingame.

Thanks in advance :)

Cheers, Mara

Hi Mara. Well, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that I have bad news for you on all counts :(

1) They are not available in game via vanilla assets. By that I mean, Bethesda's version of the game does not supply anything that puts them into the game. They are simply 3d objects that are listed to show up in the loading screen.

2) Because of 1) I don't know of any mods that place them in the game for either version. Male or female.

3) I try to avoid trying to make sense of Bethesda's logic or reasoning.

I do however, know that the files for them aren't "locked". Meaning that modders that know how to get the 3d files out of the archives that Bethesda uses, CAN actually get to them. I've seen a few custom home/house mods where authors have put them in as wall decoration. I USED to have a mod on the PS4 that added them, along with the bear, the guys in armor, and the power armor suit as craftable settlement statues.

I'm throwing this last part in, because I actually like the idea. I just don't have the skills to make it happen. In order to make them fridge magnets, refrigerators are not visibility containers. Or better known as display cases. To make this work, we'd have to have display cases shaped like a fridge, along with the mapping of where to display the objects. We'd need to extract the .nifs and textures, and resample them to smaller size.

Ok, back to you, Mara- The reason why we'd need to make display cases, is because the game doesn't give us the option to place items from our inventory, directly into our settlements, and make them STAY there. What I mean, is if you grab a pot somewhere, and drop it down in one of your houses. Yeah, you can then grab the pot in workshop mode, and move it. But, that doesn't make them statics. They can still be moved. So, our beloved friend Dogmeat, who loves to wander around anywhere and everywhere, could knock it off, and keep pushing it around until we have absolutely no idea where it is. (Wow...that part is at least real-life!)

Sorry to be the barer of bad news. But, as I said, I actually do like the idea.
