atsumehana
I am using Vortex version 1.0.5 and I am trying to mod Fallout 4. I am using Windows 10, x64, and I have 12gb of RAM. I don’t have any mods currently installed, as I have just downloaded Vortex and am currently trying to download my first mods (I am using Chrome). I have started Vortex, logged on, and ensured that Vortex is set to handle links in Chrome (see included screenshot). When I try to download a mod through the “Mod Manager Download” button on Chrome the screen pops up saying that “your file will be served through Vortex”. The download does not start, and when I click “download”, I get the “You’ll need a new app to open this nxm link” error. I have looked for solutions, however I can’t find one (for some reason Nexus won’t even let me search the forums for “nxm”, but that’s another unrelated issue). I realize this has probably been answered time and time again, and I am sorry to waste anyone’s time – I simply cannot find a solution. Thank you in advance for all your hard work! HadToRegister
Besides turning on the "Handle NXM links with Vortex" did you also, as per the line below that, close Chrome, and click FIX NOW, where it says "Fix Nexus Mods links in Chrome...." atsumehana
Yes. I closed chrome, clicked âFixâ, and reopened chrome to try again. I even tried closing and restarting Vortex itself, to no avail.
HadToRegister
Sometimes it may take a couple of tries to get the settings to 'stick' with Vortex.Try turning OFF the NXM handler, then close Vortex, reopen, set it to ON, then close Vortex, reopen it again and try to download
Pickysaurus
Can you please try this again in Vortex 1.1.3? A change was made in Chrome that may have caused the Chrome fix to fail in older versions.

Pickysaurus
This thread is over 2 years old. Also you're asking about MO2, but this is the Vortex support forum.
