thumbincubation
I have been wondering if there was a way to allow mod authors to share a link, allowing another to view/download mod files, if the mod is hidden or has not yet been published. My thought on this was for authors to be able to help each other, test for each other, or share resources without making them available to everyone. BigBizkit
I'm afraid that could easily be exploited and people could use it to share mods with a select group, which is against our ToS: https://help.nexusmods.com/article/28-file-submission-guidelines#Usage_Accreditation "All files submitted must be intended for sharing publicly. You must not use our services for your own personal storage or share files with a limited group of users."
Azworai
Could it not be set for a limited number of days? Or would you be concerned about users deleting the mod before the time elapses? That said, not a huge deal, authors have other ways they can share the mods, discord, etc... which works, even if not quite as convenient for users. That could be abused as well Somebody could upload an illegally ported mod, and privately tell their friends that they have a few days to download the mod etc etc, or even pirated software

It's abused if it exists.
Arthmoor
Actually that doesn't happen near as often as it used to (ie: no more than it does here now) since they banned the use of the "private mods" feature over there. As with any sufficiently large system driven by user content, they don't do something about things people don't report. Like Nexus, they don't have the time to spend on it either. thumbincubation
Yeah, I didn't take that into account. I was thinking in terms of being more comfortable knowing something had been through all the virus scanners first. Sorry, all. This part just didn't occur to me.
