Example:

Lifetime is 49.99 pounds ($65 USD), how about do a Christmas or "Happy Holidays" sale and sell Lifetime for 39.99 or 29.99 pounds, just until January 1st.

All sales end after Christmas.

And/or discount 1 month Premium to 1.99 and if the person MAINTAINS that premium membership, they lock in that price.

3 month 8.49 pounds, discounted to 6.49, and as long as the person keeps renewing and not letting it run out, they keep the 6.49 price.

6 month 14.99 pounds, discounted to 12.99, and as long as the person keeps renewing and not letting it run out, they keep the 12.99 price.

1 year 24.29 pounds, discounted to 20.00, and as long as the person keeps renewing and not letting it run out, they keep the 20.00 price.

How's something like that?

Here's another Christmas / Holiday / Trustworthy Business idea:

How about Nexus honors the agreement they made with the thousands of users who have already purchased an "Ad-Free" membership when they purchased "Supporter" status?

And

How about honoring the "No-Ads" for Mod Authors Nexus was so proud to announce less than 2 months ago?

Oh I'm sorry Had to Register, my post wasn't direct at you personally, unlike so many of yours in which you attempt to act superior to and or belittle members for complaining about these new ads. You want to "Help" people? Then help them get what they have already paid for.

If people could keep this on topic I would be grateful.

Thank you.

I was trying to make a suggestion and get a dialog going as to whether people would like a holiday discount like that (Not that I'm in a postilion to offer one), but it could be sent as a suggestion to the Nexus team as a good way to promote memberships and to see how many people would be open to it.

Before I make my post, I want to say that what I'm about to post in the next paragraph has NO bearing on my stance of the subject at hand. I just want to take a moment to thank somebody.

Glass1411 - I've downloaded a lot of, and used, a lot of your fallout4 mods. I just wanted to take a moment, since the opportunity is here. To thank you for sharing so much of your work with us, for the tutorials and tools, that make the improvement of the game and it's performance.

You've given us quite a bit, and I for one, am thankful. I'm sorry to see that you've decided to make your leave from the Nexus. I also wanted to give an especial thank you, for letting other authors take on and maintain your mods, so that they don't become lost to us. Thank you very, very much.

Ok, now to the topic at hand. If you don't mind, HadToRegister.... I like your idea of the holiday season discount.

And it gave me an idea in regards to expansion of your idea.

From what I'm reading, it's possible to give premium membership as a gift. A lot of the Premium members, that have been speaking out in regards to this issue, have been so, for very very many years. What if, the premium users could give a free one month subscription to premium as a gift, for every year that they've been giving support. With a maximum, of say.... 5 gifts.

Like for example. I do believe that HTR has said that he's been a premium member for over 5 years. He could gift out one month of premium membership, free of charge, to up to 5 individual members during the Christmas time.

This would not only reward the premium members, for their long time support, but also offer out a "try before you buy" option to some of the other members here on the site, in regards to the premium offerings. [Edit] The last part of that sentence is really poorly worded. I'm sorry, I'm really tired, and my brain isn't thinking up a better way to put it. God! I AM tired! I even put my edit in the wrong sentence! SHEESH!!! [/edit]

Some of them may like the new options that were gifted to them, and lead them on towards making a monthly or lifetime subscription.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the idea is viable, because I don't know if there's an automatic renewal on the premium monthly membership. That could cause problems, if so.

But, it was just an idea.

...give premium membership as a gift.

This actually sounds like a pretty great idea, I don't think there needs to be so many restrictions to it, no reason free users can't gift premium if they themselves know they won't make good use of it. The only one I can see is exclude lifetime as a premium gift option, since any other premium gifts would be irrelevant after that. But I can see some prolific authors getting 20 years of premium as gifts for a well crafted mod. In the end it's irrelevant for the Nexus who buys premium as the price would be the same. Furthermore since not all people have equal funds it'll be a great way to reward people who can't afford premium themselves, while at the same time the Nexus gets to keep it's servers running longer. In fact, it might be quite beneficial from a monetary standpoint to implement this since a user with plenty of disposable income has no reason to keep buying premium after they get the 'lifetime' package, but if they have the option to gift it to their favourite author then they have a reason to buy again. This might also alleviate some pressure the Nexus might feel with promoting their premium service to free users, so it's a win-win.

Of course they'll probably have to rework how the premium system works, but the benefits far outweigh the cost.

Also, the option to gift premium should be fairly visible, I know in the past things like 'donations' did not work well, and I think partially it was due to low visibility. the "Gift Premium" option should right up there on a mod's page between "Endorse" and "Vote" probably in a gold outline to even more visible.

EDIT: Apparently it's already possible, I should pay more attention, but, as usual, the option is off by default and it's hard to find if you don't know about it.
