Guest deleted34304850
whether you buy into it or not is irrelevant. if people are out on holiday and won't be around, then you're SOL.
Sonja
"Everybody is still out of school here until January 7th" I wonder how universal that is, though? In many places, here being one of them, it's business as usual, across the board, after New Year's Day.Also, I've seen quite a few reports of the site being extremely slow well before the holidays commenced in full. Quite clearly, the holiday traffic would have impacted things during the time; I don't deny that. However there seems to be something more going on. I suppose, to 100% rule out holiday traffic as a culprit we should probably give it maybe another week, but even so. My guess is that there have been so many changes to the site over the last 12 months, and especially the last few, that there are some bugs and kinks to squash.Oddly enough, I've been comparatively lucky, but even I noticed *A LOT* of errors, timeouts, and general slowness today... And, that is just the site alone, I haven't really downloaded much lately, because my games are either in good shape, or I'm not feeling a compulsion to play those that require updating/overhauling. Nonetheless, to test, I did just redownload a mod for FO4 that I'd been wanting to grab again, and that went lickety split, even with my non-premium account, so there appears to be some randomness involved too. Yatsuri
Well, i came here to report the slow downloads too...I can't believe a file of 190 mb it's telling me that is gonna take 1hr and 24 minutes, like wtf? This is insane, i came back after my vacation break to find...this. Hell, i even didn't notice they changed the web desing AGAIN. Not complaining since i always use the search bar and at least when i came back te site was working almost normal...except for the download speed. No idea, I just know where I am school is still out, which is what I'm attributing MY problems to be.But yea, this is the longest a speed problem has gone on, and it's been awfully quiet on the official end of things.I'm currently unable to log in to Vortex and get a 524 timeout error when I try to get an API key to log in, something that I was able to do yesterday. I'd really appreciate it if there wasn't such a Bethesda-like silence about everything

Agreed about the Beth-like silence... Nexus is typically far better than that, and remaining silent only encourages the conspiracy theories. Granted, I've had my differences with the site, at times, but wow.. some of the theories I've seen are... entertaining? Pickysaurus
Hi guys. Really sorry to hear about your download issues. We're doing all we can to get things back to normal, but the surge of traffic from the holidays hasn't evened out yet. The site, forums, API and downloads have all been pretty saturated during our peak times simply due to the number of users interacting with the service. Please ignore any other "conspiracy theories" which certain users seem to enjoy spinning about what's happening. Over Christmas a lot of people worldwide (including our own team) are off work spending time with family. I'd like to hope things will stabilise a bit once Schools start back up in the next week or two. We will, of course, be reviewing which parts of the site were hardest hit and investigating what we can do to increase the availability of them. Just remember, we're a small team of gamers working on the site - I've seen Nexus Mods being spoken about is if we're a company akin to Value in terms of scale! We are super happy that Nexus Mods has been so popular lately and will do our absolute best to keep improving. Thanks for being patient.

As a premium user downloading from premium servers, I also have this issue. I have 2 downloads going manually, 1 at 400 kb/s and the other at 37 kb/s. Please tell me this is going to be fixed asap, I understand if free servers are constantly under extreme load but the premium ones shouldn't be. Not to this extent anyway. Thanks for the reply, however, it's still hard to believe in this version of holidays and more access. Not to be unfair, let's trust that the site will be back to normal soon and we believe they are really doing something to improve. Just reaffirming that we enjoy the work you've done so far, from partnering with Modders to the site itself. However, do not leave us unanswered and let us know about the news from your servers. The frustration comes from the lack of response ...
