Deleted76163833User
I am playing RDR2 & GTA V both great games i get bored of playing the same thing over and over with no spice to it well I noticed the mods and wanted to try them using Vortex but all i get when i try is Vortex needs to access "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\source" but doesn't have permission to. If your account has admin rights Vortex can try to unlock the files for you. with 3 options it has Cancel Retry and Give permission i click Give permission but it dose the same message no matter how many times i hit it i tryed retry same result it dose the same on both games i don't know what i am doing wrong. Can someone please give me help with why i cant use vortex to mod GTA and RDR to make story even more fun
HadToRegister
Are you using Windows Defender?IF so, turn of "Controlled Folder Access"The other option is to install the games OUTSIDE of the Program Files folder, because Windows protects that folder so much, that Windows pactically won't let anything work from that and the Program Files (x86) folder. HadToRegister
Did you try installing the games to a folder other than C:\Program Files\
Pickysaurus
Can you check that path actually exists? As in open it in your file explorer. If it doesn't, try creating the folders.
thatsaskywithawhat
I am running into the same problem. I am trying to install it in a different folder. I see that there hasn't been any other postings on this thread in over a year (lol 2 days), so the new folder either worked or the other user having the problem just gave up. I am not willing to give up due to the amazing mods available for this game! I have already modded FO:NV so much so that its nearly a new game... and I love it (new to the modding game). UPDATE: I changed the file location of RDR2 from one folder under x86 to a completely different drive where there are no OS files. I tested the game, and it worked via Steam, but I tried to start the game with mods (only one for testing purposes, via Vortex) the Rockstar application loaded and asked me to play via Steam. When selecting play... the game never loads. Do you two have any other suggestions?
