The Black Face Bug ...

I bought SYRIM se soon after it became available. I've had many problems with it (basically with the old computer that I had). But I thought I knew everything there was with the "Black Face Bug". I guess I was wrong. The following is my load order, because the problem simply must be in here, somewhere:

I suspect it has something to do with hair mods, but I'm stuck, quite frankly. I would appreciate any help someone could give me. Also, what's all this 254FE business. I know that I don't have 255+ mods. I use the Vortex mod system.

The 254FE mods are "Light" mods, or ESL, or ESPFE, they don't take up a slot in your load order.


Try moving the Bijin mods below the hair mod

I keep the Bijin mods low in my load order so they're the last thing that modifies NPCs etc.

Another approach is to go up to someone who has the "dark face bug", open the console and look at what mod last modified them (this information is on the right of the screen about halfway down; assuming you have SkyUI (you seem to from your LO)). While this does not HAVE to be the mod causing the issue, more often than not it is.

Clicking on an npc with console open will also give you npc id#, you can load that id# into tes5edit filter and have it bring up specific npc which will also bring up what mods are touching that npc
