Vortex will not load any mod for Skyrim SE

After a new install of Skyrim SE from steam to my second E drive, a clean install of Vortex to default location, and a new install of SKSE ( i made sure its the SE edition). I downloaded a few mods directly into Vortex. I installed the mods and made sure they all were enabled. I then went through some of the rules and load orders. I hit the deploy mods button and it did that process and didnt give me any error messages. I tried to launch the game through SKSE and the vortex launcher, both did not load with a single mod active. I got SkyUI which changes the menus so its obvious its not working. Any suggestions?

Thanks

If Skyrim is on your E:\ drive, is your mod staging folder also on this HDD? Vortex may have a notice about this if you click on the little bell in the top right.

Yes, Skyrim SE is installed under the steam path in my E drive. The staging folder is also in E under E/Skyrim mods

Did you set SKSE as PRIMARY in the dashboard so it automatically starts when you start SSE?

No, but i did launch directly from that tool. I just set it to primary and launched the game. I used the ~ key at the main menu and used the "getskseversion" command. Skse is working but still no mods, no skyui, the inventory menu is still the old style.

1. Check the EXTENSIONS tab and make sure

All of these are turned on

Gamebryo Archive Invalidation
Gamebryo Ba2 Support
Gamebryo Bsa Support
Gamebryo Plugin Indexlock
Gamebryo Plugin Management
Gamebryo Savegame Management
Gamebryo Test Settings

Next, check SETTINGS--------->MODS and tell me what Deployment method is set there.

They are all enabled. Deployment method is "Hardlink Deployment". Thanks for sticking with me to try and figure this out.

Give me a list of some of the mods you're trying to use along with their links

Are you downloading and installing mods for Skyrim SE or mods for SKyrim LE (Old SKyrim)?
