TUTORIAL: REMOVING UNWANTED MAGIC EFFECTS FROM THE PLAYER

Ok, sorry to add to the mass of issues, but I have a bit of an odd case here. My character has what is apparently the ball of light from the healing spell stuck in his mouth but it only appears when I load a save with his weapon drawn, and if I holster it, save and reload - it disappears.

I've already tried the cureall.bat, the dispelallspells command and cleaning the save, all with no effect and searched the thread and found nothing. Is this a known bug and I've missed something, or is this one of my 250 odd mods acting up?

Just an FYI - if you're using USKP 2.0.1 or higher and manage to get one of the vanilla effects attached to your character, you should go to the Temple of Kynareth in Whiterun to have them removed. There is an object available along the wall that looks like a regular shrine which will take care of this.

*THIS* should be mentioned in the first post. Would have saved me hours of fruitless troubleshooting

==DEATH HOUND BLACK MIST (DAWNGUARD)==

A black mist about the hips:
http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/51819-1-1394114180.jpg
Caused by taking a Death Hound as a follower.

DLC1abDeathHoundFX: xx0028EB (where xx = Dawnguard load order, usually 02)
DLC1AbDeathHound: xx00C5F3 (where xx = Dawnguard load order, usually 02)

Hi there. I'm a little confused on the instructions for removing this one here.

This is what I've come up with from reading through it a few times:

1. Download the CureAll batch file and put in Skyrim folder.

2. Edit the Dawnguard, Dragonborn, or WC or SIC batch files so that every shader or effect ID matches my load order.
3. Start the game. In the console type "bat <DMGEF.txt>" and "bat <DEFSH.txt>" (without ")

Is that the correct solution? Also, I find this very strange, but I've read that using this also works for this effect:

console: player.addspell 00020028EB, then player.removespell 00020028EB

However, when I type this in, the parameter 00020028EB is not found. And nothing changes. I'm so happy that this post exists, I lost a lvl 55 character from the wisp effect and started over long ago. Now that I have the deathhound effect I thought another character was lost. This is such a relief. Sorry for not figuring out the directions, but I definitely need your help! Thanks.

PS In all honesty I wouldnt mind removing Deathhounds from the game entirely if that's possible and doing so would remove the effect. Unfortunately, I lack the required skill to make a mod that would edit out the effect from the game.

***EDIT I realized that my load order put Dawnguard as 03 (unofficial Skyrim Patch goes 02). Therefore using player.addspell 030028EB, then player.removespell 030028EB did show up in the console as Deathhound fx. However, upon using this method. The smoke remains in 3rd person and 1st person when trying to alter the value.

********FINAL EDIT I can't feel dumb about finally solving this because Skyrim is just this freaking antsy. I performed sexchange twice to temporarily remove the effect in 3rd person. THEN I used player.addspell 030028EB and player.removespell 030028EB. ITS FINALLY GONE!! WHOOO. Thank you.

Great! Thanks!!

I was carrying this effect some days around, thought it was a lasting magical effect. But when all durations had ended the mist remained. By loading older saves I can say that I got sick after "Embrace of Shadows" -- used that and afterwards walked through the black mist.

I didn't have to change sex -- add... and removespell was sufficient.

Thanks again!

Here's something I haven't seen addressed in this thread:

http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/3282304231455077812/40A8CD4B52551F9CA32C496726ECAB699B74FB1D/

Both my companion and I have what seems to be a soultrap effect, hers pointing at me and mine points at another companion. It comes and goes, though it is usualy just there. Swirling and warping the air, and creating screen tearing. As with some of the other effects listed here, I can still see it in first-person.

EDIT: Apparently, this has appearened in the thread after searching throguh another thirty pages. Both times, however, it does not seem to have been addressed, so I suppose I'm just bumping the problem with more activity.

Admittedly I haven't read the whole thread, but I have a very strange problem that's not effecting my character but every single NPC. All of the NPC have a blue-greenish glow that looks like the Oakflesh spell effect. Is there a way to remove this?

Edit: Haha, I'm an idiot. I have Skyre installed and it was one of their new spells that was causing it, Aura - Oversouls Protection. I must have cast it without realizing it. Still getting used to everything Skyre does.

Nothing to see here, move along.
