Subnautica doesn't stay open - it flashes open then shuts itself down

Subnautica can not launch using the .exe file. Thank Epic DRM.

It either has to launch using the Epic launcher or use launch time option -EpicPortal.

OUCH!!!

Good to know that the 32 games I've gotten for free from Epic (so far), are not going to work with Vortex due to DRM.

Dammit.

That -EpicPortal launch option should work with all of them. I think.

Well the forum won't allow me to attach a picture.

Open Dashboard and edit the Subnautica start item.

Command line option is one of the line entries.

Add -EpicPortal to that entry and save.

1. Take a screenshot, save it
3. drag your screenshot to the CHOOSE IMAGES button on the webpage
4. copy the DIRECT LINK link from the resulting page once your image uploads.
5. Come back here and click REPLY or NEW POST or whatever it is....
6. Click the IMAGE icon in the toolbar when you're editing your message
7. Copy the URL of the DIRECT LINK you copied from the postimg.cc website into the URL filed in the IMAGE popup, click OK

Picky: Could you navigate to the .exe file in your games directory and try launching it.

That fails for me as the op described. Maybe new builds removed DRM?

Well my specific test case is Subnautica Below Zero. I will have to install Subnautica and try that.

Here is a little more information on the history:

Fresh download of Subnautica completed. It will not launch from the game directory .exe file. Maybe Tannin is doing some under cover magic to make it work from Vortex.
