SKSE installed via Vortexv 1.2.16, not working, and I'm using profiles.

I have many profiles for Skyrim SE, and I want to get SKSE for one of them to test it out. I made sure my SKSE installer is enabled with the new version of Vortex, I followed the instructions to install SKSE, but it does not activate in my game.

 

What am I missing?

I suggest a simple test.

Stop Vortex and run skse_loader directly from the game directory.

That will tell you if you installed SKSE correctly. Usually people mess up on installing the scripts.

Make sure SKSE is set to PRIMARY in the dashboard after you test it like rmm200 suggested

That worked! Make Primary was the trick. Did the test than set primary, test then showed the version number finally. Then I re-enabled SkyUI and it's also working.

I'm not sure if it's in the current build, but in a future update to Vortex it will default to the Script Extender if it's available.

Picky: Is that true for F4SE as well as SKSE? Skyrim LE, Skyrim SE, and Fallout 4?

Yes, it personally made the change (and it was reviewed by Nagev) for all GameBryo game excluding Morrowind.
