KaptinSponges
My game is installed at D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special EditionWhen I launch the game from the arrow on the top left (picture) , i get this error: Why is it trying to run it from that folder? SKSE is installed in the normal directory, it should run it from D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe
HadToRegister
It's trying to run it from the wrong location because you installed it wrong.SKSE was unzipped into your Game folder, with the subfolder that's packaged inside the 7z file, that why the path says \Skyrime Special Edition\skse64_2_00_17\skse64_loader.exeIf it was installed correctl the path would be \Skyrime Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe SKSE install [ Installation ] 1. Copy the .dll and .exe files to your Skyrim SE directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\. If you see files named SkyrimSE and SkyrimSELauncher, this is the correct folder. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. The "src" folder is only useful for programmers, most users can ignore it. 2. Copy the .pex files in Data\Scripts\ into the Data\Scripts\ folder of your installation. The .pex files are needed by all users of SKSE.
KaptinSponges
If you see files named SkyrimSE and SkyrimSELauncher, this is the correct folder. That's where I extracted the zip file (i.e. the .dll, .exe, and Data folder). There is no skse64_2_00_17 folder in my skyrim directory In other words, skse64_loader.exe and SkyrimSE.exe are in the same folder. Yet Vortex insists on running things from a nonexistent folder?

Click on the Three Vertical Dots in the SKSE entry.Click EDIT Set your START IN, and TARGET entries accordingly, by clicking on the folder and browsing to the EXE for TARGET, and to the Folder for START IN Here's what Mine look likeBTW, this is all in the TOOL Setup section of the Knowledge Base TARGETD:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe START IND:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ Your paths from \steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ should be the same as mine
Pickysaurus
My game is installed at D:\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition If that's the case, the game is very likely pirated.
