shortylickens
Cannot find where in Vortex to change my installed games. When trying to Manage a game I get "I/O errors, the drive is broken. Do not contact Nexus as this is not a software problem and we cannot help you."I even uninstalled and reinstalled Vortex, it still knows which games I have installed and where the old file path was. Cannot figure out how to change the Mod install path.

Pickysaurus
I/O Errors imply a pretty serious hardware failure...

I Moved All My Games From Drive F to Drive G And Now getting I/o errors.Listen to me very carefully. You made a mistake that is very easy to fix without reconfiguring all the game software OR Vortex. All you need to do is change the drives status by name.Under admin tools "start button / Windows Admin Tools / Computer management / open the storage controller app. Then disc ,management snap in. Rename drive F: to Drive z Rename Drive G: to Drive F:Boom all done. every thing will now work as before.Advice ? Never ever move things. always reinstall things.Your welcome Kitty Black

However, it sounds like a hardware error at this point However, if the error message is in error, then all he has to do is this, click on the + sign, then clicking MANUALLY SET LOCATION, and browse to the new location of the gameAnd it doesn't involve changing his physical drive letters People keep moving mods, downloads and games around OUTSIDE of Vortex, and then wondering why Vortex can't find the games anymore. However, it sounds like a hardware error at this point nope, too many things rely on that single entry ( F: ) way too many things, your forgetting Steam and windows registry.Vortext can not fix this user error. My solution Does. It's not a hardware problem, the user caused an I/o error by changing things from 1 spot to another.I KNOW this because I do this all the time. I see it a lot. User input mistakes or in a rush to test something that needs more space.I get I/o errors with readers, usb's cd roms / usb's Fire wires etc.---

Purr4me
I am not here "to compete" ok ? I am here to help the person who needs help due to a mistake they made.System wide repair IS required. Not just 1 program. If he or she does as I suggest, there won't be any need to reconfigure "anything" at all. But hey, go ahead, knock your self out. Neither am I.I understand what you're saying, but from what he said, he said he moved his GAMES, to G:\He can also change the paths of the gamer tools he has in Vortex as well Changing the entire drive letter, unless G:\ was completely empty and he doesn't have anything else installed on F:\ also changes the paths of everything he has on G:\ AND F:\ and messes up all of those paths. So what I'm suggesting what he do instead, is make the least impact on his system by just changing his game paths so Vortex can find them again. However, the easiest thing to do would be for him to move his Games back to F:\
