Just recently decided to hop back in FO4 to have some fun, pulling hair out of my head instead due to constant save corruption. Autosaves on survival mode almost always ended up corrupted and can't be loaded again after exiting settlement building mode. I checked everywhere on nexus and the web to see if anything in my mod list are creating conflicts but none was reported to clash with another. I run Higher Settlement Budget Safe Version for more expansive settlement building too, also BitRaitBec merged audio and fixes and his optimized textures method. The game runs fine until I started building. After placing down certain number of objects all the save/ autosave files created (via sleeping and Survivor Options' autosaves and Autosave Manager) ended up being corrupted causing ctd when I try loading them. Can someone so kindly tell me what is going on? I played this game back in 2015 and was able to build huge trading towns all over the map and never had this problem then.


My PC's spec:


AMD Ryzen 5 3600


Ram 16Gb 1330.6hz Dual channel


Geforce 2070 8Gb

You need to run LOOT on your load order. BostonFPSFix should be MUCH further down in your load order..... Then, rebuild your bashed patch.

 

I have never been a fan of autosaves.

 

 

LOOT is already built into Vortex.

(Second line in the post)

He's most likely got the Settlement Bug where nothing he does will stop the crashes.

 

I ran into that, you can't add, or remove stuff from your settlement without a CTD, and basically have to abandon the game and start fresh.

Aye, it's a tricky one. You could try to clean your saved game with ReSaver but be careful what you remove; always make a new save and test it.

It is the load order. I run Vortex to install mods then use Wrye Bash to manually rearrange load order following FO4 Mod Survival guide. Will follow your advice and move it down now. Thansk man.

Yes thats what I noticed. Whenever I was building, placing stuffs down is problem free. Only when I changed my mind and scrap/replace objects in settlement building the saves after removing objects became unusable and cause crashing when trying to load those. Do you know what could potentially be the cause of this?
