Fo4 crashing on start after making a plugin in creation kit or after running fose (not sure which one).

I was first experiencing this CTD problem until I installed older AMD graphics drivers. Now I'm having the same issue after either running FOSE or after saving a plugin in creation kit. I did both before launching FO4 and the game is crashing every time I start it. Also getting the "Your video hardware was not identified" error message in the FO4 launcher. This issues has been troubling me for the past 2 days and I've spent about 6 hours trying to figure it out in total. I'm on my last straw with FO4 unless this can get resolved. I really wanted to make FO4 mods and this just sucks.

FIX:

Turns out I had a corrupted steam cloud save file that kept redownloading from steam cloud into MyGames->Fallout4->Saves. Deleting all of the saves immeadiately fixed the crashing on start.

Did windows update your video drivers on you? Win 10 is notorious for that.....

I actually reinstalled older drivers which fixed this issue the first time. I reinstalled a few older ones now but it didn't change anything. AMD Adrenalin updated them without me knowing which caused the issue the first time, but this time it I don't think drivers caused the issue, unless creation kit or F4SE somehow altered them or the way FO4 uses them. I tried lots of other things like modifying .ini files, verifying game files, compatibility settings and even reinstalled windows the first time. None of those worked, only older drivers did.

So far as I know, the "Can't identify video hardware" *shouldn't* really be an issue..... the card is just newer than what the game knows about. Does the launcher at least identify the correct vid card??

Yes sD3DDevice="Radeon RX 580 Series" in Fallout4Prefs.ini is the same as the name my computer is using in Device Manager.

I tried using my Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics and the "Your video hardware was not identified" message went away because the CPU is from 2014. It still had the same CTD issue when pressing "Play" from the fallout game launcher. The window would appear with a black background with the blue windows loading pointer ranging between 1 to 5 seconds with my dgpu and 20 to 30 seconds with my igpu. Then the green FO4 loading icon would appear (static/unanimated) in the bottom right for about half a second for both gpus, then CTD.

I've tried about 5 different AMD drivers ranging from 2018 to 2020. None have worked so far. I don't know why it worked the first time I installed older drivers but that method doesn't work anymore. If it's crashing with integrated graphics too I'm not so sure it's a driver issue this time.

:D We havin' fun yet?

I don't think the intel chipset has the horsepower to run the game in any event.
