dinoman9877
I've installed all my Mount and Blade: Bannerlord mods through Vortex (after having to spend more time than I care to admit having to mess with Vortex just to get them to actually properly install in the first place) and used Vortex to automatically sort my load order. Now, for Bannerlord, the load order sorter specifically states that you must launch the game through Vortex to bypass the launcher as the launcher will not respect the load order. But launching it through Vortex just brings up the launcher even though Vortex is supposed to bypass it. So I thought I'd make a tool to bypass the launcher and directly launch the .exe file for the game, but it turns out there's three different versions of it for some reason and none of them seem to load my mods. (I have the Mod Configuration Menu, which should have an option available in the main menu for Mod Options to configure. This does not show up in any of the .exe files so I can only assume none of them are loading any mods.)And obviously I can't use the launcher because, as was stated, it does not respect load order. I've tried it just to see, and it crashes before even loading to the main menu.I could probably just copy the load order manually in the launcher and call it a day but this is a fairly big issue to be having on an application that's specifically meant to help me avoid manually doing anything of the sort, so I wanted to bring it up here to figure out just why the heck nothing is working. HadToRegister
So what BannerLord exes do you have in the game folder? Is there a bannerlord_Launcher.exe and a Bannerlord.exe? If so, just edit your Daswhboard Entry to start up bannerlord.exe instead of bannerlord_launcher.exe and set it to PRIMARY
dinoman9877
So what BannerLord exes do you have in the game folder? Is there a bannerlord_Launcher.exe and a Bannerlord.exe? If so, just edit your Daswhboard Entry to start up bannerlord.exe instead of bannerlord_launcher.exe and set it to PRIMARYThere is Bannerlord.exe, Bannerlord.Native.exe, and Bannerlord_BE.exe, as well as the TaleWorld.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe Most ironically, Vortex is already set to launch just the Bannerlord.exe file. It's pathed to it directly, not to the launcher. If I run the premade Vortex tool to run it, it runs the launcher. If I run my custom made tool to run it, it goes directly to the game but does not load modules. If I copy/paste the command line for the normal tool into my custom made one to load the modules, the game will crash as if I had run it from the launcher. So to clarify: Both the premade and player made tools path to the exact same place but only the player made tool is correctly bypassing the launcher. However neither are correctly loading the mods and are immediately crashing if using the command line Vortex put into the premade tool. Edit: Also at times, Vortex refuses to launch the program at all no matter how much you click the play button, seemingly at random.
Pickysaurus
Does you default tool on the dashboard look like this when you edit it? You shouldn't be able to edit the paths: If you're using the "Official Launcher" shortcut, that does as it says, it opens the TaleWorlds launcher, but cannot use your Vortex load order. dinoman9877
I can't figure out how to post images because any image I try to upload has an 'extension not allowed by this community'.But yeah both the premade Vortex path and my custom one look exactly like that. The one that Vortex created, however, always launches the launcher no matter what. The custom one always bypasses the launcher but doesn't run the mods because that command line isn't in, but the game crashes if I try to run it with that command line.I finally did get the mods working, but I had to spend about an hour checking for compatibility issues and sorting the load order manually, meaning Vortex just saved me from copy-pasting files into the Bannerlord directory. I still had to do everything else it was supposed to do.

Take a screenshot, save it 2. go to https://postimg.cc 3. drag your screenshot to the CHOOSE IMAGES button on the webpage 4. copy the DIRECT LINK link from the resulting page once your image uploads.5. Come back here and click REPLY or NEW POST or whatever it is.... 6. Click the IMAGE icon in the toolbar when you're editing your message 7. Copy the URL of the DIRECT LINK you copied from the postimg.cc website into the URL filed in the IMAGE popup, click OK
dinoman9877
Thanks to HadToRegister for helping me with this extremely convoluted and unnecessary method of image upload. This is obviously the the premade tool by the launcher and its path. This is my custom made one. Both link to the exact same place, but the former starts the launcher and the latter does not, and neither correctly load the mods in order. Pickysaurus
I have no idea why the first one would open the launcher... it's not even pointing to that EXE. I think it might be worth looking at your Vortex log files to see if they shed any light on the situation.

I think it might be worth looking at your Vortex log files to see if they shed any light on the situation. Just a quick note, is it possible the WRONG one is set as PRIMARY in the dashboard so it always runs? I've set my custom made one to be the primary since it is the one that does not run the launcher. However, as I've learned recently, the issues go beyond Vortex running the launcher. It's also just...incorrectly ordering files. Turns out that part of the reason it's crashing is because it's not actually correctly sorting mods like the mod configuration menu, putting them under the base game modules when in fact they're supposed to be over. So that's fun, and basically no matter what I do, I have to do everything manually. :T
