**Problem!** "This save relies on content that is no longer present..."

To OP, I just loaded up your savegame in my Installation of Skyrim.

I did NOT get the "This save relies on content that is no longer present" error message

I suggest you have Steam Verify your files again, it's something wrong with your Skyrim Installation at this point

The only difference with my installation is I have

Dawnguard.esm
Hearthfires.esm
Dragonborn.esm

OK, I also disabled

Hearthfires.esm
Dragonborn.esm

and loaded up your game, with only Skyrim, Update, and Dawnguard, and again, didn't get the "This save relies on content that is no longer present" error message

The only way I managed to get the "This save relies on content that is no longer present" error message was to disable Dawnguard and load the game.

Go to the PLUGINS tab in Vortex, make sure Dawnguard.esm is ENABLED

If it's ENABLED, then If you can still download Dawnguard from Steam, I suggest to delete Dawnguard.esm, and re-download it and install it through steam again
Because for whatever reason, Dawnguard.esm is in the Data directory, but the game isn't detecting it, which is giving you the error in your save games.

@Picky

Error notification for Skyrim SE on my end (after the latest update): "Missing Masters. Mod XYZ depends on Skyrim ESM (and all DLC ESMs) not enabled". So it is shown in PLUGINS (no tab for activating/deactivating). None of the ESM is higlighted orange in latest "Save Game", nonetheless, game/and last save starts/loads without crash.

Aaah, this sounds exactly like the problem I'm having. Could the issue be that I don't have all DLCs installed?

So am I right in assuming that, if Dawnguard.esm isn't highlighted in orange in the Plugins tab, then that means it's enabled?

If it's ENABLED, then If you can still download Dawnguard from Steam, I suggest to delete Dawnguard.esm, and re-download it and install it through steam again

I've never had to uninstall/reinstall a DLC from Steam before. How exactly do you go about it?

Usually, in the Steam Client, when you're in your Library and click on Skyrim, the DLC should show up, and you should be able to pick INSTALL from there.

Tried uninstalling/reinstalling Dawnguard. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

I'd be interested in getting more info on that "missing masters" error that zcul managed to uncover.

Did you TRY the thing I suggested a couple of pages ago, of loading one of your save games, IGNORING the Error Message, and seeing if the game loads and doesn't crash?

Then if it doesn't crash, SAVE the Game to a new slot.

OK, it's starting to look like it might be a bug introduced into Vortex, what version of Vortex do you have?

I don't have the problem because I use 1.2.20

Well, it's official: the problem has been solved *and* I'm a complete dunce when it comes to computers! As it turns out, Dawnguard was *not* enabled in my Plugins list after all. What threw me off was that I didn't notice that the button to enable/disable DLCs was located in a separate Plugins *tab* rather than in the Plugins *list* under the Saves tab. I feel kind of silly that it turned out to be something so ridiculously simple but I offer my sincere thanks to HadToRegister, Pickysaurus, zcul, and anyone else who pitched in an effort to get this thing figured out. I really appreciate the help and hope that I didn't give any of you to much of a headache in my slowness to catch on.

Then check your plugins tab in Vortex, and make sure dawnguard is enabled.

Then check your plugins tab in Vortex, and make sure dawnguard is enabled.

Already did. According to the plugins tab, Dawnguard is still functioning - and yet the problem persists.
