Pickysaurus
If you go to the Vortex folder and select Open -> Open Game Mods Folder are the mod files there? Did you install QMM properly?
x33storm
Just got on the forum because i couldn't understand it. Subnautica won't use mods if launched by anything other than Vortex itself. Tried symlink, hardlink and move deployment.

Pickysaurus
So you're saying starting it via Vortex does load mods but starting to manually doesn't? That doesn't make much sense tbh.

It doesn't does it? I thought at first it was the files that were linked to the staging area, Subanutica couldn't handle without being launched from Vortex. But even with mods moved there manually from downloaded zips, it doesn't work.Like it's missing a cmd line parameter to launch with mods, that's only being applied by Vortex. Just re-downloaded all my mods through Vortex, to get updated versions that could be kept up to date. Before that it worked fine, no matter where the game was launched.Using a fairly standard "Subnautica.exe - -window-mode exclusive -nojoy -nod3d9ex -nosplash -high", but no go. Nor if launched from Steam. Ofc they're enabled and deployed, as well as redone it, re-installed QMM, checked files. It's all there.
Pickysaurus
Are you sure you have QMM installed properly? Vortex installs it for you to the correct folder.
x33storm
I found out the reason! Tried everything. Vortex had messed with the read-rights on the folder, assume it only allowed itself access.Once i removed the read-only tick, it all started working. Pickysaurus
Actually, Vortex does not set the permission on any folder, so something else must've done that. Unless of course you're running Vortex as admin (it will tell you that you shouldn't)
