I'm not sure, you'd need to check with someone who has the game on EGS. I think it's Diesel but I'm not 100% as that's just pulled from the Epic Website metadata. It might also be a complex one though, such as dc5ca441-860b-4e5c-bf5d-ac3cd22312d6

Ok I have gone thru the process with the Vortex "add a game" wizard 3 times now and it has failed all 3 times. At least I think it failed the 1st 2 times because at the completion of the process after it said "Done" I hit save and restarted vortex but I was unable the find the extension and vortex was not able to find MW5 installed on my computer. The 3rd time I got an error msg on restarting vortex that it didn't like the path to the mods server (it had appended some stuff to the front of the Nexus addy but I'm not sure if that was the problem). I have been unable to access any of the previously saved extensions created any of the 3 times. The 1st 2 times I used some of the advanced features but the last time it was just the min functions necessary to get the next button and get the the done prompt.

Any Ideas?

1. Go to the GAMES tab, open UNMANAGED, is the game you're trying to use with Vortex showing IN COLOR? If so, then Vortex found it, you just need to click on MANAGE in the thumbnail of the game.

 

2. Where do you have Vortex installed?

 

3. WHAT is the error message abvout "Not liking the path to the mod server"

 

Please write down and type any error messages here, it's hard to help when you just say "There was error messages" without saying WHAT the messages said, oftentimes the error messages state quite clearly what the problem is.

I works fine for me, with 315 mods for SKyrim SE, and Subnautica, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Enderal, Morrowind, and The Witcher 3.

 

What would be helpful, is for you to clearly explain what you are doing, and what's not working.

you pop up occasionally in these forums and each post is garbage.

if you want help, as in 100% want help to understand what you need to do, then why don't you open a post of your own, and put down what your issues are, then work with whatever person sees your post and tries to help you understand what you're missing?

or, continue to throw nasty little asides like this and so many others, and then disappear.

the choice is yours. if you want help, ask for it, if you don't want help, move on and do something useful with your time.

 

also, bit of free knowledge for you - if you are doing everything right, then the mod you are installing would work. 100%. it is very clear to me, and probably most everyone else, you're not doing everything right.

1. The game Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries is not in the list at all.

 

2. C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\Vortex.exe

 

3. It only popped the msg the first time after restarting Vortex the one time and I couldn't get it to repeat so I had to dig into the Warning logs. There's about dozens of similar warning msgs having to do with the Add Game-Wizard but I think this one is closest to the one I saw on startup that one time.

warn: Failed to export game text=C:\Users\*********\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins\game-https:\www.nexusmods.com\mechwarrior5mercenaries contains invalid WIN32 path characters.

 

The message I saw actually had the words Server Path in it but I was unable to find any ref to server in the logs.

 

Vortex actually didn't log any "errors" (the errors log was empty) only "Warnings" and it only threw the msg that one time and not again since when I tried to recreate it.

 

None of these warnings from the logs was thrown as a user facing msg or as a notification in Vortex (Bell icon).

 

I'm not going to print the logs here because it's about 20 pages and I don't have the time to redact all the sensitive data out of it.

 

Also a possible bug that I noticed during the running of the Add Game Wizard was when trying to add an image. It would not let me proceed if there was an image path in the box only with a blank path box. I tried several 16:9 images and it would not accept any of them.
