I just have bird people and cat people I think. Not so so original, but coming up with a good design is the hard part. There are also monsters that are meant to be grotesque so I don't mind if they look ugly.

I prefer blending more human features with that, if you watch the show Face Off, you know what I mean.

The problem is making something making something humanoid enough to be attractive but alien enough to look different. I agree with you on that.

But also somethin like 80% human falls in the uncanny valley.

Anyway, talking about UBR, will get the armor fixed asap.

Theorizing now, but instead of a grotesque set of races and a pretty/human-like set of races, (only speaking of the races I could find intriguing at all) you could use just-almost-mostly-unsettling enough races whom lame people would definitely feel uncomfortable with at first, but could grow on and come to see eye to eye with after some coming together story.

Wait I know, this could apply to any physical lifeform at all with the right writing skill, but a few distinctly non-human traits would really help someone like me along into appreciating them.

~Different ribs. The dragonoid from Dark Souls did this and I was very glad, a different chest shape from our unswallowable football player shoulders and pectoral boobs. This shape can change a lot without making wearing the same clothing as humans impossible, especially in a video game.

~Different postures. We can trick other animals into thinking we're something else just by hunching over or squatting down, lay in a hammock or on the back of a horse and you become invisible to deer. One of the big recognizable human things is how we hold ourselves, if real humans can shunk this generalization by posing differently then a created race can have a lot less of the boring human feel just by standing differently. Looking poised for a leap forward or back maybe, or hanging submissively.

~Different legs. Preaching to the choir, but don't much more hurried or careful footsteps help us identify a creature? If I'm listening to stomps a ways off in a dark wood then the first part of the process I'm using to identify the creature is "human or not," and I would find I have a very specific idea of what human footsteps sound like.

~Different head postures. Different head shapes are a given, with anthros those are always the part the artist just copies directly from the non-human subject and leaves as it is. As alien or non-human as the head is though it doesn't feel very unusual if it's exactly where our heads are in relation to our bodies. We could wake up with a weird head and not even notice for a few hours. Longer necks can help, neck and head shapes on a body appearing to have believably evolved from an earlier different ancestor are the best, and the creature's body posture would help decide where their head would most like to be.

I like animals who are keen on using their heads for lots of things, lunging in to bite, sniff, lick, look, or just examine stuff with their examination limb, one of all kinds of reasons I wish creature designs wouldn't start with a human body. (aiming for use in a world of human bodies is of course fine)

DO IT!!! JUST DO IT!!!

@Voldearag

These are some good ideas, but, I'll probably not go too far with changing the anatomy, atleast with humanoid races, because they should be able to use the same animations.

I like how Undertale characters look, I'd say they are mostly close to "furries" in term of appearance. Also the cartoony and retro design makes them immediatly charming.

I'm confused. So this topic devolved into a troll thread?

No one is actually working on it anymore? Can someone who hasn't lost touch with reality give me a straight answer?

All this endless teasing made people a little crazy, including me, so we often just go off topic because we have nothing better to do. But I'm fixing the last time right now, and hopefully will release soon. Even though it has been said so many times it doesn't really have a meaning anymore.

Crazy?! Whose crazy? Your week isn't a year long? We were a weak from release a year ago. :) I'm not saying I would mind a week long vacation, but a week like this, full of twelve hour night shifts would probably killed me. :D

Really now? I think I'm going to un-follow the topic at this point. The participants' responses to Drohung's problems at this point have become... appalling... mildly speaking.

Real Life does happen and it can't be prevented. Due to circumstances outside of one's control being unable to hold one's promises does not make one a "Liar".

It's not like the authors are delaying this on purpose, you know? So why's everyone in here behaving like it was?

The fans and followers of "my" projects are waiting on me to make any significant progress for well over 5 years already now, and all "I" can give them in response is apologies and reassurances I'm still working on it whenever I get a free minute off of my work and real life issues again. Do you see "them" complain about my delays in the comments non-stop like is done in here? No. Now, why is that so? And don't you try to explain it to me with "nobody's following mine anymore anyways", because I know for a fact they still are, I'm in direct regular contact with many of them on and off the site, just not inside the comments anymore, because I'm not feeling like always repeating myself with only apologies and more delays.

You have my sympathy, Drohung and whoever else is currently still working on this, for what you have to put up with in here, and I'll still be watching this project's development until completion, and who knows, one day I might be playing Skyrim as well, and then I'll definitely so be getting this mod by all means... this "topic", however, no, sorry, I've had enough. I'm painfully reminded about why I was shunning the Skyrim mod users' community since 11-11-11, and that's really nothing I need to have more of. I'm not even using the game, nor modding it, so my presence in here was always only tolerated rather than of much use to begin with anyways, and now I'm taking my leave.

Good luck with this and your other projects, and those select few still appreciative of the work the mod authors put into their mods, have fun and enjoy what you'll get! I'm out.
