Catman030
If the bloodskal spawnd through the console does not work, that implies that there is a script attached either to the object reference or to an alias in a quest somewhere. Indeed there is a quest as mentioned, but it appears to attach the same script to the bloodskal blade as is already attached to the weapon itself. lofgren
There is no script attached to the weapon. Everything is handled through the ReferenceAlias script in the quest DLC2BloodSkalBladeQST.

Everything is handled through the ReferenceAlias script in the quest DLC2BloodSkalBladeQST. Yup... Edited September 7, 2014 by Karkron
lofgren
Sorry I was under the impression that you guys were still trying to figure out how the Bloodskal Blade works. I haven't been following the thread that closely so I guess there was a development when I wasn't paying attention. My bad.
Catman030
Well I tried adding the script directly to the blade. Nothing. Anyone know what to do here?
lofgren
You mean you edited he original script to make it extend objectreference or you just added the existing script to the sword? Because the latter definitely will not work. The original script extends a ReferenceAlias which means it needs to be attached to a ReferenceAlias. You can't just add it to an object type that it doesn't extend.

Yes, i did indeed attach the script directly to the sword. I'm doubtful that changing the script to extend an objectreference will do much, but i suppose its worth a shot, don't you think? lofgren
You'll have to go through and make sure that there aren't any functions that require a persistent reference or are alias-specific. (I'd do it but I'm away from the game right now.)
Gorsondor
Catman, maybe instead of modifying the original script, try making a script that mimics the original (just to be on the safe side)
Catman030
Yea whenever I say im going to modify something I mean i'll duplicate and rename it, so that it doesn't interfere with the originals
