[LE] How do I Unbash a Wrye Bash patch?

I have no interest In SSE, The Creationtwat Club, Paid Mods or having my mods and CK forced to do stuff I don't want to do. That may have changed, but last I looked it was a heap of s#*!.

I am currently using Original Skyrim plus DLC, which is not the same as SLE as far as USKP goes, so moving to SLE and USLEEP

The best thing I can suggest is to test on a new game and see if the issue(s) still present themselves. If they do, you may have a mod that replaces something in such a way that prevents activation or the game may be expecting a different key despite showing an updated key bind. 'E' is the default activation key if you wish to test that theory out.

Can you light random campfires out in the wilderness in Vanilla? I forget!

I tried using E and it didn't work. I tried hitting it with a torch and nothing. In some menu, I think with a trader, I noticed I could sell stuff with right click as well as M5, and that didn't work on the campfire, either. Sadly, left click will sell stuff, but not what I am pointing at! It still says E, but E does nothing when trading.

I use Frostfall, RND, Pocket Empire Builders and they (not sure about RND) have their own way of building campfires, pitching tents etc. The only shame is that Pocket Empire Builder campfies don't warm me up and the tents don't shelter me, while it looks like the vanilla camp fires can't be lit at all.

I also have AbotFiresHurt, which sets me alight if i step into a campfire, but not a Frostfall Campfire.

Ah, well, at least i can build a wilderness Stronghold and when I tell my followers to relax, they cook, clean, drink, fight, chop wood and dig ore. So I am trying to find a quicksilver ore vein as when I come back in a week, they'll be full of fire wood and ore!

I had a fantastic stronghold near an iron ore vein years back, but patch 1.9 screwed up UFO and my 15 followers wandered off, but I think that's fixed now in this game!

Original Skyrim + DLC IS Skyrim Legendary Edition. Just because they were purchased separately does not make them a different game. It is the authors of the Unofficial Patches that decided to support only the full suite of DLC. I just wish they had kept the separate patches available in at least one download location even if they were version stagnate. It would make updating older mods that relied on the separate patches easier. The only "upgrade" going on here is the switch from USKP to USLEEP.

If you have the drive space, you can try SSE. It is in a better place now, I think. At least good enough that I took the plunge not that long ago. But then, I had a BSOD issue that prompted me to remove some games in an effort to diagnose what was going on. Ultimately, it turned out that the updated graphics driver did not play well with games. Since the games and mod managers were removed, it was easier to switch to SSE at that point.

In the stock game campfires, fire pits and the like that are not lit cannot be lit. Nor can ones that are lit be extinguished.

Ah, then there is either some mod not working or some script from a mod left over.

Cheers!

Original Skyrim + DLC IS Skyrim Legendary Edition.

No it's not, it's Original plus DLC, which still required patching to 1.9.

Legendary Edition is where you buy the whole lot in a single purchase, already pre-patched, at a vastly lower price than buying the old separates.

USLEEP is designed for Legendary Edition, which means the Unoffical Patches are All-In-One, even though Legendary Edition still has Skyrim, Update, DG, HF and DB as separate esp files.

So when I say I am playing Oldrim plus DLC with separate Unoffical Patches, so I am going to upgrade my game to SLE with USLEEP, I kind of still know what I am talking about, even though I have forgotten 90% of how I made my mods in the first place!

Thanks for all your help, though.

Cheers!

If you're using WryeBash, then you're using a Mod Manager, that's exactly what WryeBash is.

No I am not, and no it is not in this context.

I download and install all my mods manually. Always have.

I used Wrye Bash ONLY to make a Bashed Patch to ram all the levelled lists etc into one version of each so all chests, merchants, monsters and NPCs etc across the game world get updated in the same way with a chance to drop the same modded stuff, or to mash things together where one mod edits something here and another mod edits the same thing there and they get smashed together so they both work without overrriding so only the last mod loaded works. That is what a Bashed Patch is. Nothing to do with installing or managing mods like MO and that other one does.

It CAN be used like a Mod Manager and for sorting load order etc, but I used it (once, years ago) ONLY to make a Bashed Patch.

It's annoying that I still have to go through and re-sort the load order after it's screwed it up Automatically of it's own accord just because I load it and look at things. I open Wrye bash and then go into C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Skyrim and I can SEE it has already screwed things about without me telling it to do Jack.

At least PlugIns.txt and LoadOrder.txt still have the hard returns at the end of each line, and the latest version doesnt make them a single string of text, plus it saves the previous versions as .BAK. That's a great improvement. :)

But I am not making a Bashed Patch again.

Sorry to be nit-picky, but I get a bit peeved when people tell me I am doing something I am not. I am only using the Bash Patcher functions, and I am letting it organise Jack.

I am still Over the Moon about you suggesting Auto Harvest 2!

When you re-install original Skyrim plus DLC, Steam will auto-update to the latest version. If I were to re-install my Skyrim plus DLC the end result would be identical to the "Legendary Edition" that was briefly available before being hidden and only Special Edition available for purchase on Steam.

Please tell me that you won't waste money buying the Legendary Edition (if you can find it). USLEEP runs just fine with Original Skyrim plus all DLC.

LOL!

Nah, don't worry about that. Bless you! :D

As I now recall, I got the original disk from Amazon UK for way under the Steam price and later bought one of the DLC in a Steam sale, whichever came first. DG?

When SLE was available in a sale (I think Amazon again, maybe Steam?), it was cheaper than buying the two DLC from Steam that I didn't have!

So I bought SLE already, years ago but I am still using separate Unofficial Patches.

And now I have a free version of SSE available if I want, but I heard too much bad stuff in The Days of Paid Mods and the Creation Club, and astonishingly Maoist and Stalinist things the CC was doing trying to take control of our modding. Some mod-making friends got SSE and were horrified by what happened next when they tried to make mods for it.

I will steer clear. Not worth the download alloawance to me. Who needs it to be 64 bit? Is it really, noticeably better? Or faster? Or smoother?

The ONLY reason I ever used Steam was to verify my licence and download the 90% of software not on the disk. Then I only ever played with Steam on-line to get Skyrim updates AFTER SKSE had been updated, so my game was not borked. In fact, I NEVER even allowed Steam to go on-line at all until SKSE was updated, as it Stealth Updated. In those days we needed some text file to stop it going Live and auto-updating. I HATE that stuff. *I* am in control of my PC, not some commercial company seeking to wreck my game.

But I NEVER, NEVER, EVER played Skyrim with Steam running on-line. I had enough of all the patches breaking SKSE etc back in 2012, 13 and 14.

And NEVER buy Zen for Neverwinter from Steam (that's where I've been for 7 years). Get it from Arc for better value and a lot less hassle, although Arc can give you some hassle with bound purchases and all that nonsense, unless you're very careful.

Cheers!
