Cyborg16
The main mwsource.com page isn't loading correctly in mozilla firefox (but it works fine in IE). I get three or four bars down the left (instead of a single menu sidebar), although only the menu on the left one. Clicking on a menu command just reloads the page without doing anything. The right-had side bar is doubled too, with the logon box in the middle (across a divider).Don't know why it happened, I think I've loaded the page properly before in firefox... delete this if it's just my browser on this occasion.EDIT: The forums work fine. No problems HERE.
Adras
Thats because nto every web site is made for other internet browsers. Most, as might have been done with Morrowind Source, are made for Microsoft Internet Explorer *cough*Microsoftsucks*cough* so they wont load well or at all with any others. Sometimes its because you dont have Java, but I dont know exactly how to install it to a different browser. Anyways, if you download Opera (another internet browser) it gives you the choice to download Java into it or not. If you do, it works for any site that works for IE... But if you dont want to dload Opera, then just download Java.
Cyborg16
Thanks for the advice, but I have Java.Actually, I just re-enabled some javascript possibilities I disabled when I started using firefox, and I can now change between menu items, but I still get four left bars and two right bars. Surely the browser's designed to open web pages, rather than the web page designed for a particular browser (so why the difference with different browsers, unless they don't work properly?). Dark0ne
Really don't understand what the problem is with IE...I have a friend who won't use it just because its Microsoft. Sounds pathetic to me that software which is perfectly good at its job is shunned cause it's made by a money grabbing corporation....never mind. Anyway, the site works on IE...its just that some browsers aren't completely compatible with code which works on IE...I don't know why and haven't enquired into why this is...just some browsers don't accept some forms of HTML and PHP code which they should. Slaiv
*cough*Microsoftsucks*cough* *Cough*Ihateyou*Cough* Seriously, why does everyone hate them? Just because they're rich? They have a monopoly? Well guess what: THERE'S A REASON WHY THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY AND SO MUCH MONEY.
InstInct
For all of you who hate Microsoft, consider this:What if there wasn't a monopoly, what if there were 17 much used operating systems, 25 types of browsers, 34 programs for text typing etc. Imagine what compatibility-issues that would have. Seriously, i think the monopoly has been a very good thing for the PC industry.
Adras
Ok, let me put it this way: I just dont like Internet Explorer. The rest of the programs are pretty good. I dont use all of them, but Word is the main one I use. This is a good test site to see if your Internet Browser is working correctly. http://rpgplanet.com/morrowind/thedailyvivec/ It works for IE and Opera, but I dont think it does for Mozilla (not sure about Firefox). So turning the Javascript stuff on worked for the most part then? *Edit*The background on the page should have a nice texture to it. Its laid out as a news paper, and on the actual paper it the texturing. The outside of it it just white. Thats how it SHOULD look.
Marxist ßastard
IE is incredibly insecure. That's all that needs to be said on that topic. As for Microsoft's monopoly, I have no doubt that they have a monopoly because of their superior products -- not because of shady dealings. As for a monopoly being good for the industry, I won't even merit that with sarcasm. Having enough people using browsers that yield similar enough results when given a variety of content is one thing, but having everyone use the exact same browser is different entirely, and the driving force between a very good amount of the malware out there. Peregrine
Really don't understand what the problem is with IE...I have a friend who won't use it just because its Microsoft. Sounds pathetic to me that software which is perfectly good at its job is shunned cause it's made by a money grabbing corporation....never mind.Because it isn't good at its job at all. Even with careful downloading, IE is FAR more vulnerable to spyware and security problems. On my computer IE ended up so badly fried by it that it was completely unuseable. Switched to Mozilla and not a single problem. And honestly, the compatability issue isn't one. There aren't all that many sites that don't work well with non-IE browsers. And then of course there's the features IE doesn't have..... Adras, the site works fine for me, exactly as you said it should.
