['User' search] turns into 'Author' results

You are not understanding correctly. Picky is literally talking about the ability to search for a user's account on the site. Not anything to do with who has downloaded which files.

On the mod pages, in the search function, Author has been changed to User. I have asked this question previously and never got a logical answer. Why was Author changed to User?

If I remember correctly, it was going to be changed sometime in the future where you could search for who downloaded the mod. Why would anyone want too is beyond me.

Is there any reason it cannot be changed back to Author? Since that is the only result you get when you use User in the mod search.

I do remember correctly and I agree that the information would be completely useless.

I never did get a logical answer as why the search term "Author" was changed to "User".

Did you not read my response? It was changed because we intended to replace the current author search with a proper user search at some point. The header has been designed with this in mind.

Yes, I did read you response. "user search at some point". Which was exactly the same response I got months ago when I asked about the change from search by author to search by user.

All I'm asking is for a logical explanation why the change was made now instead of when a member search would be available.

Honestly I'm not 100% sure. Technically it is searching users, just not all users.

Yes, but it's not a user search to see who downloaded which mod as you claim.
