romalight
Play Fallout 4 without mods.if you like first to build settlements, be ready to get very disappointed. Every 5 or 10 minutes there is going to be, settlement attacks. 2 or 4 or...5 or 6... together and if you really.....lucky, you'll meet super mutants / 10 or 12 super mutants, one more dangerous than the other with 2 or 3 dogs, all together trying to kill you !!! if you make the mistake to going to fight without a explosive automatic gun, well, you going to fight for 2 or... more human hours and if you also make the mistake to end the fight with a fatman, well, all the settlers are going to die !!The only times the game let you play without settlement attacks, is when you are going to finish the Ada quest / in the machine, at Kellog's memories and going to Glowing sea to find Virgil. And if you make the mistake not to go and stop the settlement attacks, after you go there, you find there are no power, defense is very low and the settlement is out of water and if you make the mistake to have crops, well you know what is going to happen. The stranger thing is that Sanctuary is never get a attack and also some other settlements. So the settlement attacks don't let you play Fallout 4 and also don't give you time to update guns and give them to settlers. Also at the latest version of the game, the supply lines are DISABLED. So if i want not to go to every settlement attack, i use a mod and craft a AIO power thing, that also produce water and defense and stop after i have a 520 number. So if there is going to be a settlement attack, i know there is not going to be, any damage because the AIO power is a mod and the original game don't know anything about it. (a information about new players of Fallout 4 or for all need to know / if you use scrap mods and also Sim Settlements 2, you are not going to see at workshop all the stuff are going to get scrap. So be ready)

Moksha8088
Fallout 4 is great with mods, but PC players at Nexus already know that. The AIO power supply mentioned in the first post is a very good mod for building settlements. There are mods that correct every problem listed in that post. I especially enjoy a mod that lets the plentiful defences that I have built for each settlement take care of any attack without my involvement. I appreciate being informed that they have successfully defended themselves what with the heavy laser turrets, stealth assaultrons, and robotanks with machine guns (no rockets or it will crash your game) I installed. Safe, happy, and self-sufficient settlements! No need to ever go rebuild things.

pepperman35
Perhaps you are expanding your suite of settlements too fast. Take a slower approach, use a command code hack to increase the build size limit (be careful with the numbers), build and fortify the settlement before moving on to the next. Also, arm your new settlers with decent weapons and armor so they can help defend the settlement should it come under attack.
romalight
Thanks for the post Pepperman35 and happy new year. The latest time i play this game, i don't build crops at my settlements -playing without mods. i use a bat file and add thousands of food to the workshop corn/melon and more because, with the size limit of what i can build at every settlement, i want to build all the things i want / beds / tables with chairs / water 160 and defense 216 and also something else to keep settlers happy. Now i think i try to find a bat file to add water and maybe a find a bat file to add defense without build something like that.

Just add the line [Workshop]bInfiniteItems=1 To your Fallout4.ini and you'll never use scarp when building something, you only have to collect enough scrap to meet the requirements of building the object(s), after that, you never run out of scrap
romalight
Thanks Hadtoregister for the extra help. i play Fallout 4 for 5 years now and i try a lot of thing with or without mods and also try a lot of bat files, include something for the workshop to build more things -that stop after a find a mod that can disable the build limit. Those lines for the fallout4.ini is new for me but i don't thing i need it. i use a bat file to add all the materials i need and a console ~ command, so i can carry and have always with me, as many materials i want -this when i don't use mods.i think, original system with carry weight limit don't help anyone and i don't want to go back to a settlement and add some materials to build somewhere else, something -this when i don't use mods. The first thing i am doing at a settlement is to use the console command scrapall -even if that command make problems at The Mechanist Lair settlement, because there is a specific spot, where we can build a water powered thing. i just build 1000 water at any other settlement with a large build limit and transfer back, water. if there is a way to stop the settlement attacks -playing with no mods- with a console command, is going to really help me to play Fallout 4 without this annoying pressure. Maybe i just ask so much. i don't know. That's all.
