APreciousPony Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Will new games require approval? I can see people creating a ton of redundant sites like TESV, TESVSkyrim, TES:Skyrim, sKyrim, skyrimjob, ect.... It will get annoying to try to hunt for mods on "custom" nexus sites serving the same game.

Hannibalektr Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 You have got to hand it to the owners of this site for sticking to what the customers/users want, instead of turning into the blind greedy corporations. I have a new respect for these guys. I love the idea of every game being able to mod. Someone mentioned (and it did cross my mind while reading this post) that people could make tons of fake or troll nexus sites this way. I'm sure you have a way to monitor that or weed it out all together, so that is just logistics, please stop concentrating on details like IP address changing, your hardware has it's own identifiers, there are other ways is what I am saying. Anyway, great news! Congratulations on moving up a size or two Nexus!
Falkreath Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I have to say, Dark0ne, you're a genius. Your vision is legendary and will reshape the gaming industry, I promise. Just remember what Google said, "Don't be evil." Which, still mostly holds true to this day.. Remember, you can make money and offer free services!
FreudianNoodle Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 You sir are a true visionary.(Modding wise) The Best Regards, Jonas
Extragorey Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 In response to post #7819380. This was my first thought too. But it sounds like those redundant sites will just be pretty generic and won't get unique templates or anything, as they'll only ever have a few mods each. And if they do somehow get 100 or something mods, I imagine it would be a simple task to move all of them over to the official Skyrim site.
Deleted1073948User Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 The golden age of modding is at hand, mark my words XD.Thank you for your work for and commitment to the community.
Community Manager Dark0ne Posted April 14, 2013 Author Community Manager Posted April 14, 2013 In response to post #7819380. #7821170 is also a reply to the same post.Yes, they'll need approval before being visible on the network. So, imagining we didn't support Skyrim; if three people added Skyrim as a game, one as "Skyrim", one as "TES V: Skyrim" and one as "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", we'd just consolidate the files added in to "Skyrim" and delete the other two suggestions.
