Clondike14
Hi, I'm running vortex ver 1.4.8 and modding Fallout New Vegas GOG Ultimate edition. I have about 32 mods installed. Win 10 X64,32gb Ram. Nvidea 2080ti GPU.I have the 4GB patch installed & both versions of VC++ . I manually installed the NVSE into the game root directory (not the Data directory, and when trying to run FNV through the Vortex NVSE tool I get "Couldn't inject DLL" popup. Any help appreciated . Pickysaurus
If you didn't install NVSE with Vortex, it's entirely possible you installed it incorrectly when you did so manually.
Clondike14
Hi Pickysaurus, Thanks for quick reply. I have reinstalled NVSE a few times now and it's possible I messed up each time. I have copied the files into the game directory several times being carefull to place them into the game folder and not into the DATA folder.same result running the NVSE FNV shortcut . I have also installed NVSE as though it was a mod and launched it from the dashboard and same error message. I'm stuck for ideas . my GOG FNV runs fine from the usual desktop shortcut without NVSE. Install NVSE[ Installation ] 1. Copy the .dll and .exe files to your Fallout NV directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\. If you see files named FalloutNV.exe and FalloutNVLauncher.exe, this is the correct folder. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. The "src" folder is only useful for modders, most users can ignore it. 2. Launch NV via running nvse_loader.exe. Enabling the Steam Community option (enabled by default) will allow you to launch the game via Steam's standard UI.
Pickysaurus
You can literally drop the downloaded zip file into Vortex and it'll install it properly for you.
