A little trouble with switching profiles vortex.

I can not switch profile to another character in vortex, can not even make a new one with no mods installed. Every time I attempt to switch profiles, it breaks my only profile that works where I have to reinstall mods, and sort everything again. Every time I trouble shoot this and break my only working profile, it gets harder and harder to get things to work again. Afraid I will be stuck with no game, the way things are going.

Changes before problem: I installed and upgraded to RaceMenu v3-4-5. (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29624) which included all the steps, where I upgraded my skse64_2_00_15 to skse_1_07_ 03 from Steam (which might not have been good). https://store.steampowered.com/app/365720/Skyrim_Script_Extender_SKSE/

Installed INI Settings-51038-1-2 (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51038?tab=files) And last, I installed Stoja's Warpaints -High Res. (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60769/)

I was in my profile character (Page) when doing these changes. Everything seemed great! Switched to my profile character (Zed, who I am now stuck on). Again everything seemed fine. Played my Zed game without worry for a few hours, tried to change back to my (Page) profile. And it seems to start normal but the loading bar makes it a sliver and it stops and says "stuck? check your Log/diagnostic file". I don't know how to get excess to other profile, to try to fix. Maybe it is easy, just not sure how.

Things I have tried: uninstalled Stoja"s, uninstall race menu, uninstall ini settings, uninstall Steam skse 1_07_03, reinstall skse_1_7_03 to Vortex. Uninstall Steam, where as the game as well. Reinstall all and no luck. Uninstalled Vortex, downgraded to previous version of Vortex, upgraded again. Purged some mods I thought might be an issue.

Save games are not independent and something was changed outside of Vortex to confuse Vortex. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you enable PROFILE MANAGEMENT?

Did you set each profile to have their own Save Games?

Also, what was the "Something" changed outside of Vortex.

It would be REALLY helpful if you'd post what the Message is Exactly.

Yes......I did enable profile management. Would be great if I didn't. Ha Ha. No error in Log files, and went through everything that I did change before this started. The "something that changed", it is just how it acts to me. Vortex got confused. Just looking for ideas, of what could do that. Don't have much to go on at this point. Might just have to say goodbye to my other characters.....I don't know.

Oh....and no on save games, would copy and paste into saves folder.

Don't do that, use the Save Game setting I told you about.

People keep copying and pasting things outside of Vortex without it's knowledge, and then expect Vortex to somehow psychically "know" that the save games were copied.

That's a big part of your problem with Profiles, because Vortex is reading those Save Games you keep copying and pasting, and it's also reading the MOD INFO saved in those Copy and Pasted Save Games, so it keeps trying to apply them to your new profile.

Have you checked your log file? It's under %appdata%\Vortex\vortex.log

Yes....2 warnings, one regarding uninstalling Enderal launcher, which I uninstalled a while ago. Second, not sure of. And I keep going back and looking for something that doesn't appear "normal" related to this. Perhaps I just don't know what to look for except errors and warnings.

"Sat, 27 Mar 2021 17:59:40 GMT - warn: game directory not valid game=Enderal, testPath=D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Enderal\, missing=D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Enderal\Enderal Launcher.exe"

"Sat, 27 Mar 2021 16:43:24 GMT - warn: child process exited with code: ffffffff"
