Avenge Pahrump!

There is an unused bit of graffiti in the game that says "Avenge Pahrump!" on it. Does anyone know what happened in Pahrump according to Fallout lore, or what they may have had planned for it? The Fallout Wiki only lists Pahrump as a cut location and mentions that the graffiti is unused.

Interesting, I don't recall ever seeing that graffiti, although it's been a few years since I played it.

At first I thought that the name must be part of a different name but missing the beginning and/or ending letters, like NOVAC, but there really is a Pahrump.

I don't think it there is anything about it. The only thing I can find is The IRL city of Pahrump and the Fallout Iceberg meme. (Bottom of iceberg, top of 2nd column.)

Given the location I'd guess it might have been the site of an NCR atrocity, maybe even the original version of Bitter Springs.

 

Bitter Springs always seemed odd to me, because The NCR, arriving from the West, slaughtered Khans all the way on the East end of the Mojave, who then retreated West to Red Rock Canyon.

Pahump does make a lot more sense than Bitter Springs, doesn't it? I don't know if you nailed it or not, but at the very least it's a darn good guess.
