The only barrier to removing LL from the banlist now is the flagrant use of actual pornographic advertisements that link to XXX sites. They're not even behind an age gateway of any kind. I just went back there again to check and I was greeted by a large banner showing women giving blowjobs...animated too.

The lack of any sort of age gateway/confirmation is the major problem, not the ads themselves e.g. there are XXX ads on the front page of the site without the user having to login and say "I'm over 18". Yes, it's really easy for kids to access content like this if they want to online, but a bare minimum age gateway of that type goes a long way to show you, as the site admin, have washed your hands of the situation by ensuring you've made it very clear, from the get-go, that the content on the site is for people aged 18 or over and if the user accepts that, they gain entry under that proviso. It also ensures people who've come to the site "innocently", without knowing anything about LL, don't go blind/their heads don't explode/they don't have an aneurysm and whatever else looking at porn does to people.

LL now has an age gate. The previous lack of one was the "only barrier" stopping LL from being removed from the Nexus banlist. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Just a note that the age gate, like many others, requires javascript enabled. (I have noscript installed so didn't see it at first, but without noscript it shows up just fine).

Another note if you want to browse the non-adult section: adblock works really well! Ya'll should use it! But there may still be pornographic images in users' signatures and such.

So it does. I'll let SirSalami, the community manager know, who can let the moderators know, and we can remove the block.

I do enjoy proving Kendo wrong, time and again

Edit: Removed the block from the filter.

I admit this didn't go the way I expected. LL has content that is too abrasive and the internet being how it is, there will be a short wait before links to bestiality mods and other types of extreme LL content make their way to Nexus mod pages. I predict things will not go well.

Just because LL isn't on the block list doesn't mean this place will become anything like it. It just means that now when a mod requires a file from there a direct link can be given or when someone asks about a mod they see from there the same will be possible.

It's been removed from the filter, but that doesn't mean that we will allow linking to anything that is still in violation of our site regulations.

"If you can't upload it, we don't want you linking to it" is the basic idea.
