Vortex won't deploy mods

Hi I have a problem with vortex, while some of my mods are working, other mods like live another life are not. Vortex seems incapable of deploying mods and when I try to press the deploy mod button nothing happens. It also seems to be surrounded by a red box of some kind.

I have done some research of my own and looked into the deployment method (Hardlink Deployment) and staging folder and nothing seems wrong:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Mods

Please Help

Thank

Your MOD path should NOT be inside your game folder.

Also, because of Windows, you shouldn't put anything in the Program FIles (x86) folder because Windows protects it too much.
Most likely Windows is preventing Vortex from Deploying the mods because it's protecting Program Files (x86)

Thank you that seems to have worked.

For anyone whose dealing with the same problem here's a step by step way to fix it.

1. Through vortex open settings, then select the mods tab

2. Browse where it says Mod staging folder

3. I chose to make a new folder in the windows folder from the my compute which I called vortex, make something like that

4. Select that as the new path, then deploy your mods

I'm dealing with a similar problem: although my game and my mods folder are installed on my D: drive, there's a handful of mods -- 6 of them -- that won't fire up when I start a game. If I go into the in-game mods menu (which I know I'm not supposed to do, but I was troubleshooting), it shows those 6 mods installed, but inactive. If I try to activate them and restart the game, it deactivates them again. No matter what I do, Vortex won't deploy these 6 mods, and I've no idea what to do next. Should I just go back to NMM? I never had these problems with even the community version.

nice necro of an old thread.

it sounds from the very small amount of useful information that you're enabling the mods with the in game mod tool (thats not troubleshooting, its just stupid), and it also sounds like vortex doesnt know anything about them so it wont manage them.

should you go back to nmm - if you want to - i mean its the greatest mod manager in the history of man.....if you're going to do that why are you posting here for help? seems to be a bit of a waste of time, no?

Probably a noob question. But when i use Vortex installings mods for Planet zoo (or other games), the mods are not really installed in the right folder. Vortex says enabled and installed but when i look in de game folder the mods are not installed correctly. Than if i startup the game the mods are not working. If i manually copy the mods from the staging folder to the right game map it works. Any idea how to fix this in Vortex?
