  1. First. Creature. That's incredible! I know this is a little off topic but this was my first attempt in Z-brush: http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j454/kibblesticks/Possible%20portfolio%20selection/Alienthing.png Comparing it to yours is like comparing a child's crayon drawing to a michelangelo statue.. nice work!
  2. I'm having a hair pulling issue with lighting in the Creation Kit. The visuals I create in the Kit don't translate over into my game. Here is my level in the CK: http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j454/kibblesticks/LavaCompare.jpg And here it is in-game, from the same height and angle: http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j454/kibblesticks/ScreenShot91.jpg Looks awesome in the CK but boring and bland in Skyrim, I wouldn't even mind if it were the other way around but I thought the game and the CK were meant to mirror each other? If anyone has any ideas on this I'd be amazingly super grateful, thanks. Extra Info: - I'm not running any visual enhancement mods. - I haven't got more than 4 shadow casting lights in the cell. Oh and here's a pic of my lighting settings, just in case it helps: http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j454/kibblesticks/LightingStats.jpg
  3. Oh wow, I forgot about SWBF! Had so much fun on both 1 and 2.
  4. lol that would be the same as typing "Nehrim" into the search bar surely? Or were you thinking of blocking all Nehrim mods? Because if tagged correctly they should come under non-lore friendly I'd think.
  5. I have a question; What about people who tag their file with EVERY option, just to get more hits? Example: I just went onto tag search and checked "holiday". The author of the very first mod that appears on the list has tagged every single attribute available. Going further down the list this appears to happen a lot, with only two or three mods in the three pages of results actually having anything to do with "holidays". I realise with this new system they're actually shooting themselves in the foot because their results will be removed from the listings, but it still irks me that you can't vote down an incorrect tag by the author.
  6. Excellent! Looking forward to the new tagging feature.
  7. Abes Oddessy followed by rayman followed by Rachet and Clank, and then when I got Oblivion I started making mods, which increased the time I spent gaming exponentially.
  8. What basvanbeu said =] Unfortunately the hardest, most boring bit of mod making is the bit you'll find people most unwilling to help with. Strange that... I know the feeling btw. I love making characters and locations but I hate scripting, not a lot you can do about it I'm afraid =[
  9. Nice drawings dude! The top one is especially cool
  10. Haha this thread is hilarious! BasicMojo, it's nice of you to offer your services and a lot of mods could benefit from them but you walked right into that one ;)
  11. I agree with the OP in that I dislike mods that add spells or items directly. I love the Chesko's Frostfall:Hypothermia workaround though. He adds a config book to every inn in the game (in an inconspicuous place) and a single message when the mod is activated for the first time reminding you where they are. His mod only kicks in after you pick up the book, so if you don't want to use it, just don't pick up the item, wonderful  I really dislike (and had to uninstall because of it) phenderix's Magic evolved (sorry phendrix  ) because everywhere I went there were random cheat chests and duplicate dudes wandering around in ebony armour. Really broke immersion for me. I loved the spells though, just the in game item placement that bugged me. I think modders should definately keep in mind is that their mod is a small part of a larger whole, and should fit into the game as such. It's difficult to remember that other players may not want to play your mod all the time, and that adding unnecessary features only serves to clutter other user's games.
  12. Nevermind, I just found out in GIMP you have to save with compression "none" and untick "generate mipmaps", just in case anyone stumbles across this thread with the same problem  Edit: Actually that seemed to work for a bit, but now it's back to being screwy again :wallbash: ... so if anyone does have any ideas =] Edit#2: Okay so finally found a fix. Unpack a warpaint texture from the bsa. Only work on the original texture, you can resize for working purposes but the texture size must be reverted back to 256x256 for saving. Save with compression "none" and untick "generate mipmaps". Knowing my luck this fix will cease to work in a minute but I hope it's useful to someone anyway.
  13. I've tried to make a few custom war paints for my tribal argonians but when I add them in game they centre around the top of the head, rather than the full face. It seems to be mapping the paint onto the face wrongly. Even if I create a fully white texture it just creates a white square on the top of the head when added as a warpaint. Extra info: - I'm using GIMP and exporting them as dds files with a dx1 extension, but I've also tried dx3. - I've tried replacing textures instead of creating new ones but that has the same effect. I really think it has something to do with how I'm saving it, as they're fine immediately after being unpacked. The problem arises after running it through GIMP. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Very interesting read, thanks for sharing =] Edit: I hadn't heard about the black marsh mod till now, any info available? Black Marsh is my favourite province =]
  15. Thanks! I'll give it a go, kudos for the help :turned:
  16. I'd also like to know which mod it is causing that please as I have the same issue, thanks!
  17. Does anyone happen to know whether it's possible to use the "do not havoc settle" tag on a dead NPC? I tried to pin a guy to the ceiling (don't ask, it's gruesome) but he keeps falling down despite the "do not havoc settle" box being ticked. Is there some way to get dead NPCs to stay in a fixed position or is it impossible? Thanks.
  18. If you know how to texture maybe you could find a cloak mod and retexture a cloak to have the legion symbol on it to make it look like a banner?
  19. Oh. My. God. I'm blown away with how epic this looks, very very nice work Prometheus!
  20. Hope this thread helps. There may be more to it than this, but I've managed to get my start menu music to change this way. Had to do a bit of thread scouring though, and I don't remember the exact steps now, but it can be done :turned:
  21. No-one except trolls would call the mods stupid or the people who download them morons so don't get too defensive. They're just not in our personal tastes and we'd prefer to see less of that kind of mod shoved in our faces every time we visit the front page or do a simple search.
  22. Exactly this, "adult" is a bit of a wide, unspecific umbrella. There should be catergories you can filter in home page preferences, not just in tag search. Things like "Skimpy" "Violent" "Nude" "Non-Lore friendly" etc.. Okay, keeping Hot Files is fine, but maybe make it less of a front page feature, instead showcasing mods that you have expressed a preference towards?
  23. The only thing I can see as a potential problem is the player killing the bounty in an attempt to help Vaughn, because if the bounty dies without Vaughn's involvement then he avoids being ostracized and the bounty company can't complain. But I guess that depends on whether you know the bountie's identity or not.
