Vortex 1.0 Release

BigBizkit

Recommended Posts

Migration from NMM for about a year: Skyrim SE, FNV, F4, Morrowind.

Vortex works excellently as far as I'm concerned, even the functions are easy to understand, conflicts between mods are easily solved, never any crashes.

On the order of loading I do not express myself, I read on the forums loading orders with over a hundred mod, maybe it is a topic that could interest those users, personally I never install more than 10-15 mods and Vortex works great.

Not going near software designed by people so full of themselves that they would actually post the sort of replies we see here in this thread on the question of load order. You don't want to enable a simple drag and drop because it burns your ego that someone might decide they know their own mod environment better than you do. Load order management is basic functionality that's expected of any software that would present itself as a mod manager and you have no legitimate excuse to exclude it. It's all ego and it's always shameful to see software developers behave like this.

So, you haven't even bothered to TRY Vortex, and you've based your opinion of it on nothing except hearsay, and decided to not use it based on the opinions of other people who also haven't used it, but who are complaining about it anyway for the sake of complaining.

Makes perfect sense...

Glad that you were so full of yourself you dropped in to tell everybody how you're not going to use Vortex.

I'm sure the Nexus is just devastated now.

that's hilarious. why does software trigger you so much?

how it looks is 100% irrelevant given that it can be completely customised to how you like it. it's how it works which is important and it works so much better than NMM.

but you are correct - no-one is forced into using it. contrary to some of the nonsense posts you'll find scattered across nexusmods.

You can? This was my number one complaint about vortex when i first installed it, and i couldn't find any way to do it. Care to tell me how?

Kinda being the devil's advocate here: but why can't they add drag n' drop as an option for users that REALLY want to use that instead of the auto sort method vortex currently uses? You could even have it disabled by default to steer new users from it if you feel it's so dangerous to re-implement. I think this would make everyone happy and maybe get even more users to switch to vortex.

That's not being devil's advocate. To do that, you need to understand both sides of the argument, which clearly, you don't, because if you did, you'd know that you can, quite easily utilize drag/drop functionality in Vortex.

The whole argument is semantic about what you can drag drop, which is missing the point entirely, as the whole purpose of a mod manager is not that you can drag/drop *stuff*, it's that it deploys mods correctly, and manages them correctly.

Everything else, like the post a couple up, is complete bulls****.

make change here "deploying mods", make small change here "deploying mods", change load order here "deploying mods", sneeze "deploying mods", bio break "deploying mods", "deploying mods" "deploying mods" "deploying mods"..

thanks but no thanks.. I ran polls in my skyrim groups of about 10k members, very active groups and less then 3% use Vortex, many still use NMM but for most it's still MO2 or bust..

hi, can you tell me, briefly, what is the point you're trying to make, because that just seems to be a stream of conciousness with no start, no middle and no end.

deploying mods
