Just verify the files in Steam. Right click on Fallout 4, select properties then local content and verify local files. If it finds any errors it will usually fix them. You may not even have to disable the plugins.

Is settlement building necessary in this game?
snapper69 replied to Shivux's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I've quite enjoyed building settlement and populating them, it makes me feel like I'm making a difference, I wish that Bethesda had taken it further and allowed me to build up a network of settlements that eventually led to peace. -
I had this exact problem last night, after I installed 4 or 5 mods. I was starting it from F4SE 1) I ran it through Loot which didn't work 2) Itried starting it from NMM, still didn't work 3) I used NMM to disable all my plugins, still didn't work 4) I used Steam to verify my files. Success 5) I re-enabled (nearly) all of my plug-ins. Still worked.

If you have 300+ mods, how many plugins do you have?

What's the word that I'm looking for? Oh yes, AWESOME. I really hope that this comes together and I look forward to playing it.

What is the mod that gives the red/green figures next to the stats please?

The Dude with OSOK ammo, used sparingly for those long distance kills, a silenced R91, modded and using explosive ammo for general use and for indoor work, either a combat shotgun or a Desert Eagle.

Where do the Minutemen fit in the synth debate?
snapper69 replied to stebbinsd's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Chekhov only said that the gun had to go off, he didn't say why. It could be to kill an important character, it could be to defend the persons home and family, it could even be for someone to go out and shoot a Duck/Goose/Turkey for Christmas dinner. The Railroad are there to help the synths, the BOS are there to kill them, the Minutemen are there to protect the ordinary people from anyone that would harm them and also to help make the Commonwealth a better and safer place. -
Don't Call Me Settler - Any progress rapport?
snapper69 replied to ceano's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I'm glad that I was able to get it before it was removed, it's a very good mod, not only does it name your settlers but it adds quite a lot of information/warnings to the game. -
Brilliant!!

I used to play FO4 at 4k with an R9 390 and, to be honest, it didn't seem that bad, then I used the Steam FPS counter and saw how low the frame rate went (20 - 25) so I dropped the resolution to 2560x1440 and it went up to 25 - 35 fps. I bought a Gigabyte 1070 and at 2560x1440 it runs at 50 - 60 with everything at maximum. I haven't tried it at 4K as I've moved my 4K monitor to the right as a 2nd monitor and put a new Samsung 1440P monitor in front of me as the main monitor.

I use a combination of Malwarebytes AntiMalware and SuperAntiSpyware, which together seem to catch most things. I had one of those pop-ups that said that my computer was locked until I rang them to unlock it, but it only happened with Chrome. Ctrl-Alt-Del closed it down and those 2 progs, between them, got rid of it.

Make sure that the version of F4SE is compatible with the game version that you are using.

My wife says that I overthink things, but computer games are not one of those things, I love playing FO4, but don't bother too much with the minutiae. If there are inconsistencies, so what, as long as I get to kill things/people. I play games for fun, but that's not to say that I don't get involved. On one occasion I saw a Minutemen patrol being attacked by Raiders, I ran down to help and Dogmeat attacked 2 of the raiders, who hit and kicked him until he fell down, I shot one of the raiders then emptied a full clip into the face of the other, reloaded and did the same again, all whilst saying "DON'T YOU KICK MY F*****G DOG".

What's some of the stranger stuff you've seen in Fallout 4?
snapper69 replied to Servalion's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I'm playing my second playthrough and I had Piper as a companion, I went to Sanctuary and swapped her for Cait, then Ifast travelled to Diamond City. I went up to the Mayor's office and there was Piper, argueing with the Mayors secretary. I spoke to the secretary then left, Piper was still there. I fasr travelled back to Sanctuary and there was Piper, working in the garden. I fast travelled back to Diamond City to see Nick Valentine and who was in his office, Piper. Back to Sanctuary and she was working in the garden again. -
I second that emotion (that would make a great song title) and a Merry Christmas to you.

Sorry to see more great mods removed
snapper69 replied to damanding's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Lets face it, without the modders, Bethesda would have to put a lot more work into their games, or only release them for review the day before they come out, in the hope that they will sell enough before people realise that it's a steaming pile of poo (that's not a dig at Fallout 4 which I love). I wish that I'd known that I could mod Mass Effect, maybe I'll play ME3 again, with mods. I appreciate the modders on this community for the excellent work that they put in, I wish I was able to do what they do, but I have neither the patience nor the skillset. I don't always agree that "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" but in this case it definitely applies. So a big thank you (and a Merry Christmas) to all the mod authors that publish their work on here and Merry Christmas to everyone else. -
This looks great, I'm looking forward to trying it.

Are you having a particular problem? Loot will only move them if it detects a problem from it's master list and to be honest it didn't always wor well for me. For example, scrap everything needs to be at the bottom of my load order but Loot moves it higher up, so it doesn't work properly. As long as your mods work and it doesn't CTD, I wouldn't worry.

Who wants to be reading boring terminals when you can be killing people. I agree that you can get a lot of info from terminals, but it's soooooooooooo boring.

I'm on my second playthrough, the first time I played it at 4K on a 28 inch 4K monitor using an R9 390 card and it played pretty well. The only really bad moment was when I had to go into Diamond City jail, where it dropped to 3 seconds per frame. I managed to exit the game, reloaded and it was ok. Then I loaded the Steam FPS counter and saw that the frame rate was dropping quite low (25 fps), so I dropped it down to 2560 x 1440, it still looked great and the frame rate was up to 35 min and 60 max. I've now changed my gpu to a Gigabyte 1070. I kept it at 2560 x 1440 and the frame rate starts at 60 and drops to 56 occasionally, although when I went into Arcjet it dropped to about 3 seconds per frame again.
