So, I've decided that, instead, my contribution to the Nexus will be mod expositions. Ya know, run through, a nice demo or so, maybe a walkthrough, of the various mods. Also perhaps some of the quests themselves. So, my question is, what are some mods you think I should cover? It can be one you think really shines, one that you'd like to see get noticed more, or even your own mod that you feel isn't getting the reputation it deserves. Post your ideas, please.

While I agree that 92 different options for making Dremora playable can, and even is a little annoying at times, really, like was already said, you gotta start somewhere. Simply by downloading the CS puts you closer to being a modder than many. Even knowing how to go in and check the "playable" box, however simple that may be, is at least the start of what could be a modding career. Ask ancient_laws. Gizmodian. Skycaptain. Any of those popular modders, and I'm sure they had to start small. I mean, the three things I have uploaded are by no means anything great. Literally two minute mods. But ya know what? Two of them were made by request, and that means that even the tiny mods are useful to someone. I think that spending a couple minutes more time browsing is more than worth the potential of an actually gifted modder flourishing.

So, I find that recently, one of my favorite things to do is simply kick back and read a nice, humorous Oblivion "journal." Anyone got one they can recommend? So far, I've read "Oblivion as a Pacifist" and "Nondrick the NPC," as well as a couple other random things I've found through Stumbleupon and such as. ("What Happens When You Play Oblivion Blackout Drunk.") Unfortunately, it's kinda difficult to just Google this sort of thing, so if anyone knows of any more, it'd be much appreciated.

Alright, thanks! Do you know why simply enclosing the picture in spoiler tags didn't work? Like, I would add the attachment, then spoiler tags, and the Spoiler box would show up, but clicking it did nothing.

So, meet Elias. Elias in an Imperial. He knows how to run, is somewhat sneaky, and can pick flowers. So, essentially, he's as talented as a 6 year old. Here he is, in all his glory. Sorry, still trying to get the hang of spoiler tags, so as to not overload this thread with pictures, so bear with me, and advance apologies for any errors or double-posts.

So, inspired by the likes of Oblivion as a Pacisfist and Nondrick the NPC, I decided to try my hand at playing some sort of out-there character. Not being quite as creative as these people, I decided on a slightly less restricting goal: No visits to the major cities. That means no quests that take me there, nor any shopping or selling or anything. I'm gonna be living off the land. Also, no reloading. If he dies, that's the end of this story. I will, though, be saving frequently, 'cause this is Oblivion, and Oblivion's favorite thing to do is crash. Pictures and the beginning coming soon.

Have I heard of mods? Heh, that's like asking Willy Wonka if he's heard of chocolate. 50% of my Oblivion time is spent downloading mods, 40% making them work, and only 10% playing. I've got my game so modded, I've got new content coming out the wahzoo. <--- I've probably even got a mod for that somewhere. It's just that I've downloaded most of the gameplay changing mods that sound interesting to me, at least from the Nexus. I've literally gone through all all 80+ pages of results from multiple tag searches. Anymore, I've played with all the overhauls, and I get bored of them eventually, or I've beaten all the quest mods, it seems.

Ha! Nondrick's story is excellent! I've been reading for hours now, and I haven't laughed this hard in ages. I've decided that as soon as I get home (at a friend's house now) I'm going to start my own Oblivion story, with pictures and everything. Just gotta figure out what the character will be... But anyway, thank you. You've accomplished what I hoped for. I'm excited about Oblivion again =)

As far as house mods go, my favorite is Vaernlor Manor.
For combat overhauls, go with Deadly Reflex and/or Unnecessary Violence.
Quest mods? The Lost Spires is the best; I can't really remember any others that have stood out to much compared to that one. I guess Dungeon of Ivellon.
And yes. Wrye Bash for sure. It's not a mod, so much as it is a utility. It is kinda difficult to learn, which is why it took me forever to try, but once you do, it makes things a whole lot easier.

Every quest beaten. Every gate closed. Every guild reformed. I've done all these things, many times over. Any ideas for a good character roleplay, or just something original to make the game fun again? I'm drawing a blank. I've tried the roleplaying guide on UESP, but it didn't really do much for me.

So, I like the extension of opportunities for realism that using the circular portals in the MG gives you. What I don't like is that they only... Well, look like part of the Mage's Guild. Any chance someone could retex them to not have the MG symbol or anything on them? Thanks!

Alright then, cool. Any more specifics on what you want in here? So far I have:
-An entryway with a Dark Guardian and a couple corpses, just for dramatic effect.
-Armory with weapon racks, a couple shrines with your custom weapons (I called it "Bow Of Dread" because "Bow of Woe" sounded kinda weird to me, I can change it if you'd like), some display cases, and a long hall for archery practice.
-An underground labyrinth in which you can pursue and hunt a respawning-victim; I'll try to add some... Creative ways to kill in there as well.
-Working on the "bedroom" area, but I'm not quite sure how to make it... Evil. Any ideas?
-Mage room to be done.

Ah, that was my problem. Yes, yes.... RTFM XD I wanna say I didn't have any instructions with BOSS, 'cause I don't remember any, but I rather doubt that's true. But, I just ran the batch file and BOSS returned no errors or anything, just a couple tips. Though, a large number of my mods were unrecognized.

Okay, I'm not positive, but I wanna say when I tried editing my own companion using custom components... It no workie. What I seem to remember you had to do was convert the race from which your custom stuff comes to an .esm, then say some magic words and dance a sacred jig, as well as some other stuff, then convert it back. Or something like that. What I recommend doing is downloading the "CM Partners" mod. It should have a tutorial included on how to create your own CM Companion. While you won't be using CM, I think it also explains how to use custom races for such things.

Oops, dunno why I said it's been Bashed. I mean BOSSed, and then I ended up posting that anyway. As I said, couldn't figure out the Patch and never had any problems until recently.
I fix any errors presented.
For some reason, BOSS works oddly on my computer. It's supposed to present a log, no? Well, I get a DOS box in which everything runs through, but then it auto-closes upon completion, so I have a split-second (literally) as things rush by in which to catch anything BOSS tells me.

Okay, so, at first I thought I had installed some mod or another that delayed the DB initiation until you killed more people, or something. I was okay with that, didn't have a huge desire to join on any recent characters. But then, when trying to so as to test a new mod, I found that I couldn't. I jacked my murder count way up -- no unseen forces observed me. I tried force-initiating the quest through the console, but when Lucien showed up, he had weird eyes, and no dialogue options. Here's my load order, perhaps I'm just using a bad combo or something?

So, I guess when I first read your post, I missed where you said you wanted it to be one room =/ Is it alright if it's multiple? 'Cause I think what I have so far, which is five rooms, is pretty cool.
