The actual laws vary from country to country, but do know nexus does not support cracks/bypassing DRM, so you wont get any info on actually doing it here. What would recommend trying personally is, if you have another PC that you can download it on securely is download New Vegas, then backup the files via steam, burn those to disk or a USB stick (will require about 7-8 gig or 2 blank DVD's). Then just install steam on you home computer and run the steam setup within the burned files on your home computer. It basically works the same as installing from a legal purchased disk. EDIT: if you don't own steam version, you obvious don't have a legal version already, because ALL versions are steam including disk version. Although strange a pirated version would add any extra DRM cd check. Are you sure you don't mean fallout 3?

Check for a new version of FOMM and NVSE is not part of FOMM, FOMM is just used to launch it, you can get NVSE from http://nvse.silverlock.org/ Also would verify your New Vegas install with steam, in Library, right click NV icon>properties>local files>Verify Local files Cache.

Personally think the idea is abit crazy having a kid as a companion, because of the danger it would be put in (from an RP perspective) but I guess it depends on play style. General idea, adoption would probably be the best though, not very original but works the best and would probably be the most flexible and easiest to put into the game and create some story for. Guess it also depends on player sex, if they are male, maybe a one night stand from a few years ago could come into play being told you have a kid or finding out somehow.

Yes they will, only real problems come from stuff like Nehrim total conversion, since you cant dual install with Steam, but that is minor. @Graphics, Quarls Texture pack and OBGE and really detailed normal's are good starts.
