  1. You don't have to plant a ring on that other dude. You can just drop it off somewhere and tell Brynjolf that you lost the ring. He'll say "Oh at least you had the balls to take part in this." and the quest would go on. Just because it doesn't say that you can do something differently in the journal, it doesn't mean you can't. Oh, and install some mods.
  2. Go to your folder with SkyrimPrefs.ini file, and add this under the "General" section, which should be the first one at the top. Now, if you favourite a couple of weapons, e.g. a sword and a bow, they will show up both equipped. You can have a sword in your hand and a bow on your back, just like the "Armed to the Teeth" mod.
  3. Just got GTX 570. The world of ENB is amazing.

In our heads and in our hearts is the child we always will be.
  4. Also some mods are hidden. As far as I know they don't show up either.
  5. It's a suggestion. Don't wait 31 days, you don't have to (although it would be better if you did). I didn't, and I installed Deadly Dragons on one of my characters after I have beaten that Whiterun Watchtower dragon, and it is functioning 100% well. The reason it says to wait 31 days it for stuff to fully reset. However, that only applies to things already spawned. If you go to a completely new area with dragons, your dragons would be working fine.
  6. Soon I will get a better graphics card that would handle ENB with 2K textures and whatever. Right now I'm using Realistic Lighting with Customization, and used to use RCRN, with a small FPS hit. I was wondering what ENBs look like those 2 mods? Also, it would be better if I could put that ENB on top of, say, Realistic Lighting to get those fancy features like Depth of field, SSAO, and Dynamic Sun glare. Edit - Actually, I think I found the answer, for now. On the Superb ENB-RL's short description it says this. I think I'll go with that, but I would like to hear your ideas as well.
  7. Whiterun hold. However, I prefer the looks of the Rift. Especially the wooden floors and the birch trees. And don't forget the fun you can have dropping a ring onto the ground and watching the havoc Mjoll causes.
  8. Well, yes. If you put time and thought into your character the game will be easy. I do agree though that it's too easy, even on master. I use Deadly dragons (hard preset) + PISE + Duel Combat + Balanced Magic + UFO + Better followers + a lot of other balancing and gameplay mods. I also should mention Apocalypse spell package, and that PISE automatically adds spells from mods onto enemies. I play on master and sometimes it seems that I just cannot survive without help of my followers. Like I went outside of whiterun a couple of days ago, alone. There were 3 wolves. Easy enough. I walk a little further and there's a sabre cat. I ran for my life, occasionally shield bashing it when it was catching up with me. I got to the giant camp and they sent the cat flying somewhere towards Halted stream camp. That was also where I was heading. I got to halted stream camp and there was a group of about 10 bandits sprinting towards me, and so I ran back to the giant camp. They dealt with my problem, but they also decided I'm a target. I decided to use them for my benefit, so I ran back to the Halted streams, and made them finish those bandits off. Now I was trapped in the camp surrounded by 3 of them + a mammoth. I had to use an invisibility potion to get out.
  9. I play as a good guy. Not exactly lawful good. I sometimes steal for myself, break into houses, etc. I never kill any NPCs (unless they are hostile like bandits or evil), and never get caught doing illegal stuff.
  10. These come to mind straight away, as they are the biggest in terms of popularity and file size. WATER - High-Res Version Skyrim 2K by Nebula - Lite version Vurt's Flora - Lite version SMAA - Ultra version. SMAA doesn't even affect my FPS but looks like antialliasing on x8! Realistic Lighting With Customization. Static Mesh Improvement Mod (SMIM) Real Ice by Yuril. I use Half Icecube Half Dull with Parallax Many others that are minor but still have a huge effect on the game's quality. There are too many for me to list off my memory. Some of my specs. HD6770 1GB 12GB of RAM Monitor = 1920 x 1080 resolution. No SSD, by the way. I suggest you use the mods I'm using as they are the best texture replacers (In my opinion), but pick the full size options. I'm sure you will have stable 45+ FPS in all areas, as I can do 25 in most places.
  11. You edit the base container itself, not the one in the render (world view) menu. Untick the "respawnable" box. However, if there are multiple of those containers, they will not be respawnable as well! So if you just want a non-respawnable chest, duplicate the one you need and untick "respawnable".
  12. I was trying to export stuff from my mod. I used Wrye Bash's function "export editor IDs". However, it didn't export categories like containers, statics, etc. It exported the other categories, like Globals. I tried using the other export functions, but it always gives me an error similar to the one below. Is it possible to export the categories I need with Wrye Bash? Also, I tried both Python and standalone versions.
  13. After looking through some meshes in NifSkope, I found out that grass consists of a couple of textured waving planes sticking out of the ground. However, I noticed that some of the meshes, like the underwater grass ones, aren't just flat, they have some sort of a bend. This leaves me wondering, what stops us from making medium/high polygon animated 3D grass, beside much higher requirements? Think something like this. I don't exactly mean like that, but something like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JQ--yA8iQs
  14. How can I change a Static object into a misc object, or a MSTT into a Misc object? I've seen other mods do that, e.g. More interactive items.
  15. Aaand I just noticed that I crossed the 500 post line! I can change my title!

      Yikes! Have some hot cocoa.
  16. The redoran plains area is the most intense, and the most CTD causing as well. The normal high spawn option gives me CTDs every minute, but the Low spawn option gave only one, when using Storm Call. The low spawn is still quite intense, there are still dozens of enemies to be killed. Memlapse, I do not think its your system, because I can run low spawns quite comfortable on a HD6770 (1GB) with Skyrim HD and other graphical mods. It's more like a glitch in the game itself.
  17. The definition of what's beautiful in TES is different than what we might consider beautiful. I say elves are supposed to look that way, even if they do look like fish. It is considered normal/beautiful in their race culture. They are elves, not humans. In fact, I really like the dark elf look, it makes them look like they could kick some nord a$$, not pose for beauty contests. I don't know, just my opinion.
  18. Hey again, fg. First of all, thanks for helping me earlier. Now I have 2 ideas, choose the one being the most practical. I need a script that shows a textbox when you activate a certain misc. object. Remember my older topic where I asked something like a textbox that shows up when you reach certain level? I changed the idea, and now you have to use a misc. object for the script to run, and it will show you a textbox depending on your level. e.g. you activate the misc object - the script runs, checks your level, if it is less than 8, it shows x, if not and your level is less than, say, 20 then it displays y, if not and your level is less than 32 it displays z, etc. Also, I'm not sure if this is going to be easier than the first idea, but what about a book that displays the text inside it depending on your level? Just like the above script, but when you read the book. I mean, you can attach scripts to books, is it possible to make this script?
  19. Wow, this actually works now, fg109! Thanks a lot! Everything you said is what I needed to do to make it compilable, and then I added more global values and well, it works for everything I needed! Thanks again.
  20. OK, I think I have the script but I can't get it to work because Creation kit is being a (censored). I have looked through your links to Hello World and the other one, but they didn't mention the issue I have. I've been working on a mod, and I'm now at the final stage. I need to find a way to make a perk edit a global variable. I've been looking for it for quite some time, and had given up on it, leaving my mod behind. But then I accidentally found a way. The solution was within one of the perks. The perk pointed to something called "PerksQuest" in the creation kit. I open PerksQuest, and go to scripts. I found the solution, the script was there! Here are the contents of it. I quickly began changing it to what I needed. This is just a test, and just to see if it's going to work I only used one of my Global Variables. It seemed easy enough, and I ended up with this. I saved the script, and tried to compile it. Success. By now, I have a compiled script, ready to be attached to my own "PerksQuest". I have created my own quest to avoid any compatibility issues. I them go to scripts and attach my script. I attached it, and edited the properties to point to the global variable - zHOGarlicGlobal. (Ok, I will explain later why this garlic thing is important to my mod. I'll tell you now, the "z" in the name is to put the object to the bottom of the creation kit window, for me easy to sort and find. The HO stands for my mod - Harvest Overhaul.) Having the script attached, I go into the quest Stages and create a blank quest stage 10. I remembered looking at what the original "perksquest" has to make the quest stages work and change the global variables. So I go and drop in this to the "papyrus fragment" bit in the creation kit. I think I'm done here, as it looks exactly like what the original PerksQuest has. I press OK. I'm sorry, what? I already have the script and everything, and I inserted exactly the same thing what the original PerksQuest has. Example - I do not want to create a new script or compile it, I already have it. Why can't the Creation kit understand this? I have tried some other things similar to this, including copy/pasting the whole script in the papyrus fragment window, but with the same outcome. What should I do? Am I connecting the script wrong to the quest? Have I written the script wrong? The same script works for the perksquest, it should work for this. Oh, and I tried loading up the original PerksQuest and pressing Compile. It doesn't give any errors. What's going on?
  21. I do not think that Skyrim deserves an M. More like 15+ like it is here in UK, but certainly not an M. (M is 17+ right?)
  22. "Sure boss, let me hand over the password to my personal, private profile right away!" But really, if access to your FB profile is a requirement, then you should just walk away immediately.
  23. I only use breezehome. It is cheap. Easy to obtain. Small, you dont need to run around a mile and 3 loading screens to get to your bedroom. The smelting is just outside, and the so is the chopping block for arrow crafting (Complete crafting overhaul lets you craft arrows). With a mod, both enchanting and the alchemy tables are also there. The only drawbacks of breezehome are the crappy hay pile beds, and the glitchy top step of the ladder/staircase. But I be learned to ignore them, they are minor nuisances, not game breaking bugs.
