  1. It would probably un-equip itself but still stay in your inventory, which I'm pretty certain is what happened when you turned into a werewolf in Bloodmoon, but it's been a while.
  2. You can't even really see the left pauldron of the Nord in the second picture, if you were to look at him from a different angle then he could easily have the animal hide hanging off the pauldron.
  3. I had a dream once that Skyrim had the exact same level-scaling that Oblivion had. :ohdear:
  4. @ headbomb Here you go. Remember that they were planning on making it like the skills list where it all itunes-ish but I guess they changed their minds and decided to make it a list.
  5. Well I think what they mean is that all the dungeons and towns are part of the distant LOD, which is different from Oblivion where only the major cities were part of the lod, meaning you should be able to see all or most of the dungeons and towns from far away.If you look at the demo at the start you can clearly see that Bleak Falls Barrow dungeon waaay off into the distance, and that's just a dungeon that has a sidequest in it.I'm not quite sure how they accomplish that without huge amounts of lag though, if you tried that in Oblivion your computer would slow to a crawl, maybe it's just a better engine, who knows?
  6. Different compared to what?
  7. , he talks quite a bit about the favorites menu and the hotkeys, but I'm not quite sure I fully understood what he was talking about. He also said that punching and that being a monk-type character would be possible, though he didn't explain as to whether it was tied to a skill or not.
  8. He also mentioned that you won't be able to ride dragons, but that you will wind up killing a lot of dragons. And yeah I agree with scot, I think if they weren't planning on including vampires or werewolves they probably would have given us a "no" by now.
  9. @ ub3rman123 There's not really a way for me to argue with that since we haven't seen enough armor sets, so I'll just step down for now. ........So yeah...anyone else got anything they want to say, it's getting really quiet in this forum. :whistling:
  10. Nothing's wrong with it, it's just that everything else fades so if we could have the compass to toggle off then outside of combat the only thing that would be present is the crosshair, meaning you would be able to view the environments without having anything getting in the way. This is why they have fade on the status bars and also why they removed the weapon and spell icons.HUD elements that are there when you don't need them are just kind of distracting but you still need to have feedback or else you wouldn't know what's going on.
  11. And you could just add in an option to toggle it off for the people who don't like it.....strange, I believe I've said this before somewhere.
  12. I think greaves are out too, if you look at the demo it just shows Iron Armor, Iron Boots, Iron Gauntlets, and an Iron Helmet, but I didn't see any Iron greaves, nor any Elven greaves. But you can see in the demo that he's got some kind of leggings on, I think it's part of the cuirass now.But at least that's not as bad as having the entire armor in one piece like Fallout 3.
  13. Sorry, but I don't think they would spend time trying to develop different forms unless they could work well in combat as well as out of combat, a fish or a bird couldn't really do that, they would probably consider such a task a waste of resources. It wouldn't be easy for them to implement forms that completely change your character's model and animations, and if they were going to do something like that they would probably do werewolves rather than fish or birds or dogs. Also, being able to fly in an open-world game would also be pretty overpowered, unless they put in mechanics that prevented you from flying at really high altitudes so you couldn't easily discover every dungeon and point of interest that are up in the mountains.I can understand why you want it though, but werewolves and vampires are far more requested and so they'd probably focus on that if they were going to develop different forms.A modder might be able to do it, but the mods I played for Oblivion which allowed you to switch forms were usually quite buggy.
  14. If it's anything like the polymorph spells in D&D it wouldn't be all that useful because you wouldn't be able to cast spells.I remember the polymorph spells in Neverwinter Nights, they were fun, but not all that useful.
  15. I've been watching clips of the demo on my PC, and I just realized that toggling off the compass wouldn't be possible since the cooldown for shouts is displayed on the compass. :wallbash:
  16. Just thought I'd like to point out this article, since Skyrim's level-scaling is supposed to work a lot like FO3, and to give people an idea of what we might be able to expect with Skyrim's level-scaling.
  17. Actually horses in real life can turn quite a bit faster than they can in Oblivion. But it's hard to have really fast turning in a game with FPS mechanics.I personally think that most enemies should ignore you while on your horse so you don't have to get off every ten seconds.I mean, is a mud crab really going to attack someone on a horse?
  18. Granted, but you're then banned from the game because your skills aren't leet enough. I wish I wasn't in Florida, where it's 100 degrees right now.
  19. Went to Skyrim because I already destroyed Cyrodiil and turned it into a place more depressing than the Capitol Wasteland.
  20. Not sure if anyone else has already posted this (this topic is too large to sift through it and check) but I think I found some more scans from the playstation magazine. http://darklythroughglass.blogspot.com/2011/06/skyrim-screenshots-playstation-magazine.html
  21. Then you would be the Princess. If you were mugged by a monkey...
  22. Narvaez, Ramon Maria (1800-1868) "I do not have to forgive my enemies, I have had them all shot." (Said on his deathbed, when asked by a priest if he forgave his enemies.)
  23. Simple question:Do you like the UI and the HUD?If yes, then what about it do you like?If no or maybe, then what do you think could have been done to improve it?I vote maybe, I like most things about it but I find myself wishing I could toggle that compass off.
