  1. The dragons land on their own occasionally, maybe even frequently, so pure melee should be an option if you can dodge the flames. If you're a stealth character, I don't see why you can't just shoot arrows at the dragon as he's flying by or when he's landed, but considering the rarity of arrows in Skyrim, you'd have to be careful about preserving them.Mages should be obvious, send fireballs his way whenever you can.
  2. I wonder if G4 or Spike will host it?My internet is too crappy to watch it online, unless I download it overnight.
  3. The whole "menu doll" thing has kind of been overdone in my opinion.Used too, you could barely find an RPG that didn't have it, but it seems as if it's becoming less and less common in RPGs.
  4. I will be a mage, obviously.I sincerely hope you start out with a spell or two already learned, I intend to go through the game on my first play-through without ever equipping a melee weapon or a bow.
  5. Erm, what? This is just some random speculation topic about vampires on the Gamespot forums, how does this confirm that vampires are in the game?
  6. I think by fighting style they're referring to how certain races are aimed towards specific archetypes.Like nordic warriors, high elf mages, khajiit thieves and whatnot. All I really heard from that line was "Merchants travel from town to town and you can rob them".
  7. No, they didn't say anything if they were light or heavy. That means there is no magic penalty. When he was scrolling through the elven armor, I had to pause every millisecond to see each piece's stats. Also, notice the armor rating for the iron shield compared to the Elven Armor. Blocking is now a really worthy skill, when an iron shield has that good armor rating. How can you tell whether not light or heavy armor applies a penalty to your spell-casting?In Oblivion, the magic penalty was displayed in the magic tab, they haven't shown us the magic tab in Skyrim yet.
  8. It seems to me that they have Food listed in it's own category instead of being under Ingredients, I think this probably means that you can't use food for alchemy anymore, but as a plus, food now heals you a bit.Since robes still don't give any armor rating, I wonder if this means they still have the penalty to magic applied if you have armor equipped that you're not skilled in?Also if the woodcutter's axe is a weapon, does this that the miner's pick is a weapon too? That would be awesome.
  9. I'm curious to know what they meant by "Eliminating pop-up issues".I can't tell if they mean that all buildings, dungeons, towns, and structures are part of the LOD, or if they just pop-in from further away.If you watch the demo (either one), you can clearly see the nordic ruin dungeon at the very beginning from really far away, I hope it's like this with all dungeons and towns and whatnot. It would also seem that dragons are part of the Distant LOD, either that or the actor fade is pushed so freaking far that it shows actors from miles away.
  10. Why not just have an Elder Scrolls convention?TESCon would seem appropriate.
  11. No dungeons or NPCs, at all?I could understand limiting it to three or four NPCs and only one or two dungeons at most, but none? That would certainly give people the wrong idea, can you imagine how you would feel if you thought a TES game had no dungeons or NPCs?I certainly would feel no urge to play it.What they should do is let you do the tutorial dungeon (without the story), and then let you roam in and around Riverwood with limited dialogue and NPCs, possibly with the crafting cut-out.Like people have said though, I would prefer them to focus more on polishing the game than putting effort into a demo which might not even accomplish it's purpose.
  12. Edit: Nevermind, I am obviously too tired to be posting right now since I missed that first post.
  13. The problem isn't showing the sidequests, it's how you would properly present to the player that Skyrim is a massive, open-ended world in a way that wouldn't betray the entire world and it's secrets. How do you convince them that Skyrim is a true sandbox game without allowing them to free-roam everywhere in the demo?
  14. I wish the elves would have longer hair, elves with short hair are lame.Well, except for Dunmer, but they're excused from looking lame.Problem is, ridiculously long hair doesn't really work unless you have some hair physics, otherwise it will clip right through back when you run.
  15. its been confirmed that there isnt dismemberment and Ghouls havent been in an elder scrolls game since arena No dismemberment?? darn! what a buzzkill:/ but i thought there were ghouls/zombies in oblivion? Dude, this isn't fallout. Ghouls =/= zombie. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Arena:Ghoul#Ghoul http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OBCreature-Zombie.jpg Do you see a difference there? Because you should. You say that as if though Fallout was the first game to ever have ghouls in it, it wasn't.The word "ghoul" is often used interchangeably with the word "zombie".In fact the Fallout ghouls are often referred to as zombies by NPCs.
  16. Really? It looks a lot better than Oblivion's to me.
  17. I don't see how he looks like a draugr, Draugr have glowing blue eyes and rotted lips that show their teeth, Arvel doesn't have either. Also most of the draugr have beards.
  18. E3 = Electronic Entertainment Expo, it's where all the gaming companies show off their new games or expansions for games for the first time, sometimes they also show off new consoles and technology. Here's the video I think you're looking for, in case you haven't found it yet. Skyrim e3
  19. They've already been show at E3, just search Youtube for "Skyrim".There's one that's about 15 minutes long.
  20. I hope there are more robe models in Skyrim than in Oblivion. In Oblivion there were only three different robe models:Mages' Robes, Monk Robes, and the White Mages' Robes.Everything else was just a retex of the Mages' Robes.
  21. @SoggyWaffle While I do agree that nudity shouldn't be included in the game, I don't think that's a good reason for doing it.If they stopped adding in features just because modders could do it better, then they're is a lot that they wouldn't add in.Modders always seem to find a way to fix things that Bethesda breaks.
  22. Not working for me, everytime I click watch video I get this: Article Not Found! Either the article id you provided does not exist or is invalid! If this is a broken link, please report it using one of the contacts available. Thank you! Edit: Nevermind, think I figured it out. This is legal isn't it?Sure doesn't sound like it.
  23. And then,,, Oh crap. Indeed. That's downright depressing.
  24. Yay, drunken fist fights, finally! Now if all or most of the taverns have bards in them playing instruments we can finally have the tavern experience we've been waiting for.
